Waking up in a hospital bed was nothing like it was portrayed in the movies.
He didn’t wake up in a single moment, surrounded by friends and family who all started to cry, or anything. It was more of several hours of him fading in and out of consciousness, his eyes trying to focus on the nurses and doctors who were coming in and out of his room, but he could never really bring himself to actually do it.
Eventually, though, he was fully awake, and his doctors took that opportunity to start asking him a million questions while looking him over. He was pretty confused by it all, but he managed to pull out some vague information from them--car accident. Head injury. A few broken bones, but nothing life-threatening. He’d be okay. In time.
Finally, his visitors were allowed to come back in, and surprisingly enough, Ashley was the first one to come in. She looked...different? Maybe she did something different with her hair. Huh. Was she taller? She looked taller. Maybe it was just because he was in bed, though...
“Hey Ash.” He said weakly, tilting his head up to look at the door. “Are Hannah and Beth on the way?” He mumbled, before freezing, his eyes widening. “They weren’t--they weren’t in the accident too, right?”
