Movie Night
[An Ashropos drabble]
Atropos was of the opinion that the vast majority of what came out of the overdramatic cesspool called Hollywood was boring at best and personally offensive at worst. Furthermore, she considered herself far too dignified, not to mention swamped with work, to bother watching such drivel.
Somehow, however, Ash managed to convince her to watch a movie with him, and he'd even managed to find one he thought she'd like. Final Destination, it was called--the goddess thought the title was a bit ridiculous, but the premise sounded promising, so she went along with it.
Plus he'd mentioned there would be alcohol.
By the time the fourth death occurred--and the third round of drinks had been poured--Atropos found she was quite enjoying herself, watching with satisfaction as yet another character who'd dared to cheat Death was violently destroyed. If she was leaning a bit closer to Ash than she had been at the start of the movie, she blamed the alcohol, though it was a far cry from the strong stuff. Nor did she feel the need to comment on the fact that Ash was smiling more at her than at the blood on the screen.
She even agreed to watch the second movie right then and there, but sometime between the Route 23 pileup and the psychiatric ward, the booze and her long days of work caught up to her--not that goddesses of Fate are routinely subject to falling asleep on couches, you understand.
Ash, still smiling, didn't try to wake her up, and got a blanket for her instead. "Καληνύχτα, Aisa."
They could finish the sequel next time.
