(1/2) This is more directed towards mean anons than to you, but can I just say that the people judging you are probably really young with very little experience. And can I just say to them: you literally do not understand anything unless you've been through it yourself. Also, people have the fucking right to end relationships if they're unhappy jfc.
(2/3) Now I don’t know the whole situation but from what i can discern/from personal experience of having to end a relationship, if she doesn’t end it now it’s likely just going to lead to more unhappiness on both sides and become more toxic? What about that is hard to understand? For context to this, I’m not even friends with Leslie, idk what’s going on I just read her posts. But seeing this makes me angry and she has the right to make her own decisions in her personal life.
(3/3) And I will still support her in that 100% bc I’m not judgemental and small minded like some of you clearly are. Anyway, Leslie, youre being so strong, just hang on in there things will improve for you, good luck with everything ❤❤
Thank you for this. I realize that a lot of people here don’t have experience with a long-term relationship, they are younger, etc., and it’s really easy to look in from the outside and make judgements based on some idealized idea of how life is supposed to work, or how it should work. Like… it doesn’t. Shit goes wrong and I am doing what I know is best for me right now. Other people don’t have to like it or understand it. I’ve been beating myself up over this for months, there is so much context and history. And yeah, it’s impossible to understand unless you’ve been through it. It’s unbelievably complicated.
(Ironically, this is something that occasionally bugs me in these fandoms - unrealistic expectations of how people should behave in certain situations. Emotions exist? And we can’t control them? And there is history and context and circumstances and such that you have to take into consideration. Not to mention other people and how their personalities affect them and their interactions. Expecting people to act perfectly or to always make good choices that never hurt anyone is... completely naive and ridiculous.)
