wanna put my two cents in the recent cc drama and im just gonna be straightforward and say i will still probably support atsu and watch his vids cause hes a genuine guy and definitely dont have ill intentions (tectone can go away tho i just dont like him in general lol)

the drama is mostly about the terms 'loli' and 'shota'
i get why people hate those terms and think they are bad but they are mostly referring the bad stuff to what should be 'lolicon' or 'shotacon'
the true definition for both those terms are actually just straight up 'young girl/boy' (can also be used to refer someone as having childlike appearances) and by young it refers to below 18(underaged)
the terms loli and shota mainly has bad annotations because of the lolita book and how i guess people view it as if you use loli/shota youre using it in a lolicon/shotacon pedo way
but technically its like using the word child or minor or any terms used to call someone who are yknow young and underaged
those words are fine on its own but of course if the person using them are horrible or they say it in a creepy way then yeah thats a red flag
so imo its not harmful per say its just generally viewed as such
plus its jp slang like bishie/bishounen, bishoujo, ikemen, bara etc etc
none of those slangs have to be in a sexual way (especially bara which is thought of as sexual just like how loli/shota can be even though bara just means someone buff)
ill give a loose example of how a word is originally just a word but then has a bad connotation to it
the word bitch is supposed to refer to a female dog but bitch is also used as an insult, same goes for the word ass (ass as in donkey)
nowadays people tend to use those words negatively when in actuality its not as bad as they seem
just like anything else in the world not everything has a clear defined line
i understand the unease of the loli and shota terms and get the want to erase them but for reals i think its a lil much to go hating on genuine people who uses those terms lightly
i mean atsu said he doesnt even like those terms he just doesnt generally care if its used by people
you can hate and cross those words off of your vocabulary but if people use them harmlessly just to describe an appearance and they arent using it in a degenerate disgusting way please dont atttack them so much?? you can express your dislike those terms or alternatively you can mute them or if its an irl tell them youd rather not hear those words kind of like a personal censorship
idk maybe its just me and my very neutral stance on most things in the world, but idc what words you use as long as they arent slurs or used in a very disgusting way.
