#asianpacificamericanheritagemonth This is yet another #asianpacificislanders #tbrstack for me. There are a lot of popular Chinese American authors that helped pave the way for other Asian American women to be published. In this #bookstack, I have a book by Vaddey Ratner, a Cambodian survivor of the Khmer Rouge regime. A young Indian woman named Madhuri Vijay found great popularity this past year with her debut novel "The Far Field." Amy Tan is probably the most important author in that stack. She was the one that led the way for Asian American women's stories to be published loved, and cherished in America. "The Joy Luck Club" was a godsend. She is the person many Asian American girls and women looked to when they searched for stories that related to who we are in America. Over the years, I grew to love Lisa See's work starting with "Peony in Love." Celeste Ng reminds me of what it's like to be mixed, growing up in the midwest. And Helen Hoang is breaking barriers as a writer with autism. QOTD: Who are some of your favorite authors of Asian descent?
