Remus, Virgil, whatever you, I fully support it. *Eye* wish you the best of luck - duck anon
He calls out, “Ready Virgil?”
Virgil calls from a distance away, blindfold securely tied around his eyes. He is turned away, but turns to call out to Remus
“I already said I was Hot Stuff!”
Remus smirks, allowing Virgil to turn around and prepare. He gets out his Morningstar and places it nearby, gathering a small assortment of small stones in his arms.
When Remus is ready, he throws a rock at Virgil, headed straight for the back of his head.
You at first think it’s going to nail him squarely on the back of his head, but at the last possible moment, Virgil tilts his head to the side, allowing the rock to pass mere millimeters from his ear.
That breaks the spell of stillness as Virgil launches himself to the side, running laterally, weaving through the trees despite his blindfolded state.
Remus, on the other hand, starts to throw them hard and fast as Virgil starts to bob and weave in and out of sight.
At first you can’t tell any pattern to the way Virgil is moving, but you eventually realize that he moving back towards Remus, if but slowly. How he is doing this blindfolded is beyond you, but he’s doing it.
Remus hurls a particularly large stone harder and faster than the others, but Virgil seems to be too engulfed in his running and gets nailed in the leg. He stumbles a little, cursing in a language you don’t understand.
Remus looks mildly surprised, but doesn’t let up, throwing another rock at Virgil even as he is recovering. Virgil stiffens at that, moving out of the way of the rock before it hits him.
Virgil mutters before a low growl grows in his throat, launching himself directly at Remus. Remus’s eyes widen and he picks up his Morningstar, dropping the rocks he had piled in his arms, save for one he still had gripped in his hand.
He hurls that rock at Virgil as he rapidly approaches, then gripping the Morningstar with both hands as Virgil gets closer and closer.
When Virgil is just out of striking distance, Remus swings his Morningstar at him to meet Virgil just when he gets in reach. Virgil again senses the attack and deftly dodges the swing, jabbing his elbow in a sudden attack at Remus. Remus grunts at the attack, but fights back by trying to get Virgil in a headlock.
He fails as Virgil is somehow able to dart behind him in an instant and kick the back of Remus knee, causing Remus’s leg to buckle and bring his knee down to the forest floor. Before Remus can speak or even think to, Virgil has a blade at his throat, the blade perfectly just millimeters from Remus’s vulnerable throat.
“L'alurl velvel zhah l'velkyn uss”
Virgil’s voice is guttural and low, almost sounding primal, his face is one of his anger, but his eyes show a gleam of amusement.
They stay like that for a while, air tense as they both heave at the exertion of the fight.
After a moment, Remus responds in the same language as Virgil, but his words are a bit more stilted than Virgil’s, you get the feeling he has little practice speaking in the language.
“Jiv'elgg lu'jiv'undus ph'jivvin.”
Suddenly, Virgil pulls the blade from Remus’s neck, slipping the blindfold from his eye, scoffing and rolling his eyes as they are revealed.
“I should not have taught you that Proverb, you creep.”
Remus cackles as Virgil turns away, slipping the dagger back to where it was before somewhere on him. Remus jumps up, pausing a moment to rub his jaw where Virgil nailed him. He runs up behind Virgil, picking him up to Virgil’s protests, but they seem halfhearted.
In fact, you get the feeling that this happens a lot as Virgil effortlessly turns in Remus’s grip, Remus halts, and seems expecting of something. Remus is not disappointed as Virgil cranes his neck and kisses Remus, running a hand along his jaw, circling the tender spot. Remus reciprocates and he slowly lowers both of them to the ground.
Oooo, Virgil’s showing off!
And woo, is it getting hot in here or is it just... them?
