🎬 - What is your favourite episode and why do you love it?

my favorite ep has always been chimney begins!!! i love the tie-in to the doug arc, i think it is masterfully woven in with the cinematography and music cues (the use of radiohead in that one scene gets me every time). i love how chimney invented the slanket and his family lore and the tragedy of kevin and finding his place and becoming the heart of the 118. it’s fantastic.

🚨- What’s your favourite emergency faced by the 118?

ooooh that’s a hard one! the one that gets me right in the heart every time is the ladder truck bombing. the tears will always hit when the crowd rushes to lift the truck off buck and the music plays and maddie crying watching it on tv 🥺💖

🌈 - What’s your favourite arc?

you’re killing me with these hardball questions!!! my mind first goes to the tsunami arc as an obvious answer, it has so many good moments, the highs and lows and dramatic ironies (athena being so close to chris and not realizing it kills me!)

but i also have a soft spot for the s5 opening arc with the blackout—the comedy of them wrangling all the zoo animals, the horror of athena dealing with hudson (plus lou! 🥺), may and all of the neighbors working together to save the kid on the ventilator (even if it’s an electrician’s voltage conversion nightmare)

Buff! Hi! For no particular reason other than I love them and feel like it, will you tell me some of your favourite whale shark facts?

HI KRIS i’ve been waiting my whole life for someone to ask me about whale sharks!

my favorite fact is that their spot patterns are unique to each individual like a fingerprint! also, they can live up to 130 years old!

there are also weird facts like the fact that they have denticles (like toothy bumps) on their eyes to protect them from damage! and can also retract them deeper into their head for the same purpose. they have a pigment in their eyes so they can see better in the deep ocean, that deactivates when they are up at the surface, feeding. they are a multitalented fish!

🕯️ - What’s a moment in canon that you think is underappreciated and why?

oh HECK that’s a really hard one!!!! and it’s so funny bc we as a fandom always tend to notice and over analyze such little things anyways so i don’t know what’s actually under appreciated or just something the writers forgot about. anyways!

i always think the non-maddie dispatch employees need more appreciation! i rewatched “first responders” when it popped up on my tv the other night and i had forgotten entirely how upset josh was about sue being hurt—he stayed at the hospital with her just as long as sue’s husband! so i think we need more josh and sue and LINDA!

in general i think we could use more uncommonly paired people together. karen and chim, athena and buck, hen and eddie. i love when they get little scenes together but i need more variety please!

OH amazing question that is really hard to answer omg! okay let’s go:

1. i was yapping about it yesterday so it’s going on the list: rescuers down under. i can’t even begin to explain how obsessed my sister and i were with this film as tiny kiddos. (alt disney honorable mention: fantasia)

2. my neighbor totoro, another nostalgia choice. our grandma bought the vhs somewhere in the early 90s bc she thought the characters on the cover looked cute and we’ve been wild about it ever since

3. wolfwalkers—i’ll always be a wolf girl (gn) at heart.

4. titan AE (but honorable mentions to my other weird don bluth fave: rock a doodle)

5. into the spiderverse, i would love to go back and watch this for the first time all over again.

this was hard bc i love so many animated movies lol. here’s my other faves: the lion king, nimona, land before time, fievel goes west, song of the sea, i could go on 😭 i’ve also been super obsessed with kpop demon hunters everyone should go watch it!)

i know we spoke on gas station snacks—i always need a tried and true fave and then the weirdest thing they have on offer lol.

1. pepsi, everyone knows i can’t go long without my fefs lol

2. 3 musketeers bar! i don’t eat a lot of candy but that’s the one candy bar i love bc i’m very old

3. plain lays potato chips bc i’m boring, unless pickle flavor is available (i’ll eat pickle flavored anything)

4. if there’s any weird or regional or limited edition flavor soda on display i will absolutely get suckered (and usually disappointed haha). altho that dr pepper cream soda isn’t bad! our last road trip included a saratoga springs drink called VICHY
