Hi! Are you the person who provided the English episode transcripts for en.codelyoko.fr? I've been dowloading the scripts through the episode guide or searching for the doc links via Google, but I can't find 77 Lost at Sea, 87 A Space Oddity, 90 Wrong Exposure, and 94 Fight to the Finish. I was able to find the other 91 scripts, just those 4 are missing. Would it be possible for you to get in touch with the site team to get the episode guide updated with these missing scripts? Or perhaps we could find another way to make them accessible? I'm a huge fan of your work, the love and dedication you put into the translations absolutely shows! I'd love to have the entire script collection from your translation style if possible! Thanks for all the effort you've put into the CL fandom!

You should be able to find all the scripts and transcripts on this page, including compiled documents for every season and a transcript for The Training/The Race. I tested the links for the episodes you mentioned and they seem to be working, but please let me know if you have any problems and I'll look into it ^^

Oh, I did also do transcripts for Evolution that I wasn't able to upload to the site, so I've just uploaded them to Drive. They're based on the subtitled English versions on the official YouTube channel, but I added and corrected a bunch of stuff the subtitles left out. There's also a second version of the episode 5 transcript based on the English dub.

An idea for a Laura rewrite

The gang talking about their previous experiences with Xana casually and Laura just getting increasingly more concerned these people’s sanity-

Laura: first day This is so cool! :D

Laura: A week in …Jesus Christ- are y’all okay???

lol for sure I've thought about this with William before, since he was originally only with them for less than a day there's no way he could know everything so I like to imagine that everyone keeps casually talking about Lyoko-related stuff he's never heard of before and he's secretly very confused all the time and just can't show it or ask questions because it'll hurt his pride. I was going to draw some little scenes of that years go with questions like "Odd is a cat? I thought he was more of a dog person." "They keep talking about something called Kankrelats, I think that's a monster? But I have no idea what they're like so I'll just nod along." "Who is Franz Hopper? Oh thank you Laura for asking, now I don't have to- nope they're refusing to answer, dammit." I'm not sure if I saved any of the sketches but here's a recreation of one.

But yeah on the serious side, I love the potential of Laura's character in exploring how much the gang have been impacted by their experiences. Kinda like Taelia I guess: they drag a normal girl into a dangerous situation and she gradually realises how messed up it all is, has a very normal reaction to that realisation, and is shunned by the gang for it because they're so used to things being that way.

On the other, more lighthearted (?) hand it could definitely be played for comedy if it leans into the way the show likes to brush off traumatising events as no big deal, like Laura hears "XANA took control of the weather and kept lowering the temperature in an attempt to freeze the city to death. I thought Yumi had died in my arms but she was ok" and she reacts with horror and sympathy like a normal person would, but no, the gang are genuinely unaffected by it because this is a kids' show and we can't traumatise them for real.

Thinking bout how William was telling Odd ‘to be on his A-game and too take this seriously’ and how that makes no sense for him.

Then I realised something: Yknow who it WOULD make sense for him to say that to? Laura

Consider this: Laura having her first Lyoko mission with William. Laura is excited but William is a bit freaked out for her because he doesn’t want her to repeat his mistake. He wouldn’t wish that experience on anyone.

Yeah I really hate how that episode was written. With Laura specifically it would've been nice to see the characters concerned about getting a new person involved in the fight against XANA considering the danger and what happened with William, like it's super messed up that they decided to drag her into it without fully informing her of everything and knowing the impact it would have on her life? The fact that Laura can waltz into the lab and help them out one time and Jeremie immediately asks everyone to vote on letting her join without even considering how it would affect her if they voted yes

And it sure would've been nicer if William said that to any character out of concern because of his past experience…but I feel like it was pretty in-character for him to be condescending about it in that episode, he does tend to show an I-know-best attitude.

...And admittedly if he saw the Scyphozoa targeting Ulrich, Yumi, or Odd, I could imagine him at least hesitating to help them, out of revenge for the way they treated him ("You gave me a hard time about being caught by that thing, now let's see how you do against it"). But Aelita's been nabbed by the Scyphozoa dozens of times so she sympathises with him over it as long as we ignore her terrible nonsense characterisation in CLE and he doesn't hold that same grudge against Laura so yeah I think he could potentially be protective of them. And with Laura it could come with a heaping dose of resentment at the gang for bringing another new person onto the team so easily and risking a repeat of what happened to him.

Hello, I came across your list of Code Lyoko DVDs and I have a question for you. I recently came across 3 Russian DVD editions (one of them was already on your list) of the series and I would like to know if you could help me by telling me which ones are legit and which ones are bootlegs? Oh neat 👀 I'd seen the one with the season 4 artwork before but not the green one. Unfortunately I don't think either are official, though I guess I can't say for certain when I don't know much about DVD production in Russia.

I assume when a company licensed a show for DVD production (or other merchandise) Moonscoop would provide them with an asset pack to pull from containing things like backgrounds, character images, fonts, text boxes, etc. so although the cover designs vary, there are still plenty of commonalities.

These ones don't really have any of them though. The character images were something you could easily find online whenever these covers were designed, the backgrounds aren't from the series, the copyright information on the back doesn't match what you'd usually find there, and the biggest giveaway for me was that they don't have the official logo. (ty Semie for helping find more images) (also who picked those screenshots on the back omg 😭)

And after seeing better pictures of this one I'd say it's actually unofficial too, they just did a much better job of replicating the style of the Funimation season 1 DVD set so when you see a low quality image of the front cover it looks more convincing. My bad 😅 Like I don't think Moonscoop would have approved it for sale when it said "Moonscope" on the back but who knows.

I wouldn't dismiss the idea of buying bootlegs when official ones are really difficult or impossible to find, but in the case of the green one in particular, if they managed to fit 26 episodes onto a single DVD disc, I can't imagine the quality is very high. They could be fun to own as novelty items though, and to help preserve that particular dub of the show.

So, sorry I can't say they're official, but thank you for sharing anyway! It was a nice surprise to see another one I hadn't seen before.

Yeah I shared the video earlier after I watched the whole thing. I think the title of this post is a bit misleading - it sounds like Sophie and Jérôme are working on a pitch for a new series and have been in talks with the rights holders, but it hasn't been greenlit or financed, so it isn't "in production" (being made) yet. These two writers certainly have some intention of producing a new series, but we don't have confirmation that it will actually come to fruition. So it could be something to look forward to, but I'm not getting my hopes up too high at this point.

Still, it's interesting news! I think there are a lot of good stories they could tell using modern technology, I'm interested to hear what they come up with.

You! What are your thoughts on trans people, especially trans women?

I'm 100% pro trans rights. Humans are wonderfully complex and diverse beings and I think that's something worth celebrating. Everyone should have the right and the support to experiment with their own presentation, appearance, pronouns, etc. so they can find what works for them, what makes them happy.

I don't often post about current events on here, but I have been keeping up with the news when I can. I really detest the people who claim to be "protecting women and children" while they systematically strip away our existing rights in an attack on trans people. There is nothing feminist about oppression. Those morons do not speak for me and no matter how many times they insist they have the best interests of "real women" like me at heart, I know that's not true. Trans women are not a threat to cis women, nor to womanhood in general. In fact, the idea that there is this one singular universal experience of womanhood is false and downright stupid when you actually stop to think about it. Everyone's experience is different. I do volunteer work in a girls/women-only space and I would gladly welcome trans girls/women into it. The more the merrier.

In recent years I've been finding more trans voices to listen to and I've learnt a lot about gender and the state of the world we live in. But I know there's always still more to learn. I will never intend for my words or actions to be transphobic, but my knowledge is not complete and there's always a chance I might do/say something offensive without realising it. If that happens, I welcome people pointing it out so I can correct it and do better in future. The same goes for anything that comes off as -phobic or offensive towards any minority group.

Trans men are men. Trans boys are boys. Trans women are women. Trans girls are girls. Nonbinary people are rad. Trans people deserve all the support, love and respect and I hope someday we can create a world that accepts them for who they are.

A very interesting rumor about the final moments of Echoes when the light shines on the doors to the supercomputer with the XANA symbol, XANA supposedly says the phrase, "I'll be back" albeit the audio is very muffled. I checked the scene myself and when I raise the volume I can hear something being said during it; but it's so fast, unclear, and the music interferes. Do you know how to isolate or clear up audio from a CL episode or know someone who does to check what's being said, if anything?

I think I've heard the rumour before but I'm not sure anyone has confirmed it. Unfortunately I know basically nothing about audio editing so I can't look into it myself :B But maybe someone who sees this post can have a try.
