So young kits purr when they are the most comfortable and hissed when uncomfortable. The hissing is a life long trait but the purring? about 40% losses the ability due to puberty, some lose it to repressing the urge for years.

Kits have the soft scuff spot on the back of the neck, just about were the nape is. If you pinch it they freeze and occasionally get low to the floor. As they get older the part strength to normal muscle both from growing and having it pinched when young.

So Keith? he still purrs, it happens when he’s in a deep sleep. He has 0 clue. And his neck, pinch it and he will freeze and get lower to the ground. It takes dumb long for this to be figured out about him.

I feel like Lance is the first to notice the neck thing, noticing it because it's so easy to yank Keith back once the collar of his uniform or clothes is pulled. Unlike Pidge who would probably still go at them when grabbed as if she were a dog ready to fight. Keith? He reacts even with clothes. And Lance would probably accidentally find out about the nape of the neck thing by accident. Or by seeing Kolivan or Antok grab him and Keith just reacts.

The fact that Keith doesn't notice it right away, it probably takes a few months after Lance notices.

Keith: And they just grab my neck. And I can't help it! It's like I can't fight! I just... go flat! Lance: You just noticed? Keith: What? Lance: Yeah, seems to happen a bit with your clothes, too. Less freezing up, but it's easy to pull you back, like some weird cat reaction. Keith: ..... Keith: IT'S BEEN A THING THIS ENTIRE TIME!?!?!?!?! I THOUGHT PIDGE WAS JUDGE FREAKISHLY STRONG PULLING ME ALONG BUT SHE'S BEEN TAKING ADVANTAGE OF THIS REACTION BY GRABBING THE NECK OF MY JACKET!?!?!? Lance: No, no, she is freakishly strong. She can hold up Hunk, remember? Keith: Oh yeah. But still. This is a thing?!

Poor Keith. I feel like a lot of the senior Blades do this a lot if Keith gets hot headed. Bonus: they try this on Pidge because she can be chaotic and dangerous, but it has no effect. Any other Earthling reacts by freezing up, which differs from how Keith reacts, but Pidge does not and she twists on them and finds a way to get loose. Keith finds this absolutely hilarious.

I feel like being half-Galra and more reptilian looking, Regris might not purr (or as loudly?). And with the idea that he's about Keith's age (not much older), he might also have the "go flat" reaction. The difference is that his tail either lashes around in reaction or wraps around his ankles.

A funny thought:

None of the paladins native language is english.

Other people figured this out because they hear them speak their native language when frustrated.

(there was a shock at just how many different languages there where on earth.)

My favorite this is southern Keith so i just imagine they are all talking and at some point they are talking about where they’re from.

Shiro in older brother fashion ask keith to say “sunflower oil”. Keith glares at him and pidge is dying of laugher because she knows that keith can’t say those words without an accent.

I do love the idea that the Earthling paladins speak another language that isn't English (or common language/tongue as I put it for when they're in space since everyone seems to speak it, which has a whole different set of ideas as to why). Poor Keith and his accent. He probably keeps catching himself on it; his team doesn't tease him because of his accent, it's about how he reacts to his accent. RIP Keith. I feel like the Blade of Marmora is super intrigued by the languages and accents that come out of the kids, especially as their translators can't translate it.

Bonus: Some of them say something in one of their other languages, the Blade of Marmora, Allura, and Coran question if they're using insults or something. Odds are it's one of them saying something like "I miss banana bread back home" or "I could go for some good pasta". Extra bonus: Because Keith's accent sometimes comes out, some of the Blades thinks he's using another language. No. THey just don't know the accent enough to know it's the same language. They think "y'all" is something else when Keith says it. It gets worse when they meet his father (because I live for Chief, as I call his dad, living) and they ask Pidge for a translation because she can discern it the easiest after Keith. Pidge is no help as she's dying of laughter at their confusion.

As a note: thought of this would also be perfect with the Mama Paladin au. Though not fully noted, Pidge shows to utilize some UK/British terms, especially as she calls the diaper a "nappy" and her concept of "mate" differs from Keith's. She doesn't have an accent, but her use of words differ a bit, which would build for amusing things like accents do.

i think to would be funny if everyone assumed Keith was the resident punk and emo but in reality it’s actually Pidge who the punk and emo. They go their music taste from Matt and just ran with it. Pidge be listening to Flyleaf, pierce the veil and slip knot is both funny and interesting to me

Dude, the lot would totally do the "Know the Emo Music" game and Keith wouldn't even know half of them but Pidge would know almost everything. She denies being emo. The others ask Matt if she had an emo phase she's lying about. Matt realizes he had the emo phase and Pidge knows the music because he'd share it with her. Pidge listening to loud punk music while working because it keeps her awake and motivates her, especially if she's doing chores.

Keith will forever tease Pidge after this. "And you called me the emo loner." while having this smirk because Pidge listened to far more emo music than him and was even more of a loner than he was. Lance also helps with the teasing. "Aww, do you only call Keith the emo one because you're projecting?" Pidge will probably throw hands with them or hug Hunk or Regris and cry into their chests. Bonus: Shiro is laughing because the kids never cease to amuse him and this strikes him as sibling behaviour. Matt confirms, this is definitely sibling behaviour.

When Keith is genuinely exhausted to the bone he snores. He snores like a god damn tracker with a broken wheel, boy is loud as shit.

While the snoring tells the team that he's exhausted, it is a good sign, especially to Shiro. This tells them that Keith is going to sleep deep and sleep well. Lance probably teases him and Hunk a bit, chuckling about someone actually snoring louder than Hunk. Hunk is actually amused by that teasing. He's also relieved knowing Keith is sleeping well. Pidge, being the little shit she is, would pretend she tracked how high of a decibel Keith got to with his snoring. Keith would quip back with comments Pidge has made as she talks in her sleep. This prompts them both to laugh.

If snoring isn't normal to Alteans, Allura might actually be concerned, especially if she's heard Keith sleep WITHOUT snoring. She's wondering if he's actually okay or potentially unwell with that loud snoring. Did something in his face break and that's why he sounds louder than Hunk?! Nope. He's just tired and sleeping deeply. He's actually fine.

Bonus: Remember in episode 2 and we see the others in their rooms before the rude wakeup call? Yeah, Lance is wearing Pidge's headphones. I think he stole them from Pidge that first night because he heard Keith snoring in the next room. Lance was probably confused and concerned because Hunk was loud, something he probably knew as most likely his roommate back at the Garrison, but Keith snoring LOUDER than Hunk? He's relieved when he later finds out it's just a Keith thing of being in deep, restful sleep, often after exhaustion. It's possible this is also a thing for several Galra, potentially making it a normal Galra thing.

instead of getting grey hair as Keith gets older he starts getting purple/magenta strands of hair

Some of those purple/magenta strands of hair are a lighter shade, so he has the occasional lavender or lilac strand of hair

Keith's hair getting purple strands when he gets older is an intriguing and fun thought. And it could look so pretty.

I don't have money so I can't make an official commission, but can you draw more of Daniel in that Familiar Daniel au. Specifically his human and cat form like side by side. It just I think it's a cool design and a cool Au and I want to see more of it.

I don't know about THAT in particular, but you mentioning the AU did spark a thought in my head for drawing Daniel as a cat again with Katie as the witch. So be on standby while I work on that. But for now? How about a WIP.

Like your average witch and cat, they share the same space for bed time.
