Opinion on Curse?
Wow. Just… Wow.
So this episode opened up a can of worms we didn’t need. I remember back during Bon Bon how everyone was speculating on whether the Blood Moon was just Star and Marco being bound together, allowing them to come to the aide of one another or if it was literally denying Marco a relationship with Jackie so he could be with Star. Guess we know the answer now.
UUUUGGGGGHHHHHH….. this is just… it could have been done SO much better than this. The writers are gonna need a Hail Mary pass to tie up all the loose ends this unravels.
Was Marco super sad after Starcrushed because he thought he was never gonna see Star again (which he did using his inter-dimensional scissors) or was it the curse messing with his emotions? Was Marco unable to focus on his relationship with Jackie, or was it the curse pulling him to be with Star? Was Marco’s depression during Lava Lake Beach because he was lying to himself about he feelings for Star, or was it the god damned curse?
And in the event it -IS- the curse, why is it Marco can’t suppress his emotions long enough to at least have a semi-functioning relationship? (And no, Jackie doesn’t count) Star can force herself to be with Tom but Marco ends up like a junkie going into relapse?
Look, I know the ending of the episode leaves things a bit more open ended, but this current development brings to question almost every intimate interaction Star and Marco have had post Blood Moon Ball.
With half a season left, the writers are really going to have to bring their A-game. I have a lot more to say about this, but I’ll end it here for now.
