AAAAAAH can I ask for some daycare au twins angst? (Specifically Sunstreaker)
Not sure what you had in mind but here’s what I got! Here’s Sideswipe outgrowing his brother! The way I see it, though Sunstreaker can spend lots of time on his own and be fine, being distant in connection terms is odd to him (if not sad and upsetting, since he feels connections differently) because Sideswipe has always been the only person in his life, for as long as he can remember. But, as Sideswipe grows socially, Sunstreaker remains stagnant. He isn’t interested in building relationships, and he’s grown distant from the one person he already cares about. So he’s often alone. Make no mistake, Sideswipe makes time for him, he just finds himself wrapped up in actually having friends for once.
Sunstreaker doesn’t necessarily care that he might be a sociopath, but he considers that he might make things harder for Sideswipe.
About the kids in the daycare! The daycare is mostly for young kids. However, there are a good number of older kids who'll stop by after school until their parents finish working so that they won't have to be home alone. Bumblebee is one of these kids, but his legal guardian is actually Optimus so he helps his dad at the daycare until it's time to close up. Sideswipe, as an older kid himself, often talks to Bumblebee. Sunstreaker, as an antisocial sociopath, does not.
The kids in the last panel of the first drawing with Sideswipe are Blurr and Bumblebee.
Bumblebee is younger than Sideswipe and Sunstreaker, but the twins look younger than their age from all the years of not getting enough nourishment.
Blurr is!! The most energetic kid at the daycare!!! High strung and always in motion! The attendants have trouble keeping him under control, but they manage. :) I’ll probably redesign him, I’m known to be indecisive… this look is temporary for now. Placeholder!
During the week, the days aren’t too busy. Sideswipe plays with the younger kids, and Sunstreaker tries to stay away from everyone he finds annoying (everyone, as they are young children).
The daycare is open for any of the local kids because it’s seen as a safe place to hang out, supervised, when their parents are not around.
I think I’ll add Blaster soon! I’m unsure of whether a lot of other characters should be adults or children but haha… we’ll see <3
