I had to find time to draw this cus I have been busy with university.
Canonically, Emi is way too stubborn and lovesick on Bill. She kinda hyper-fixates on him and obsesses over him on an unhealthy level, so I don’t think she’d go for other boys, no matter how mean Bill is being to her.
But hypothetically…?
Idk, perhaps?? I think they’d be cute too ^0^ (even if canon Josh wouldn’t like fat girls 💀)
- He might be a little nicer to her since they both kinda share similar struggles with their weight.
- Both Emi and Josh have a distain for wasting food. Emi is kinda poor too and will eat whatever she can find. So when food is about to expire, she kinda forces herself to eat it so it wouldn’t go to waste, even if she feels sick after.
- Josh has aspirations for writing and Emi loves drawing, if they do end up together they’d work perfectly together as business partners
- As mentioned before, Emi is poor, so it’s really sweet to imagine Josh getting her merch she can’t afford as gifts

She is such a girlboss and gives off major female Stanley Pines vibe. I love her so much and how she challenges Joe just enough that it’s like they’re already a married couple 🤭
Characters who grinds each others’ gears yet are too stubborn to confess their attraction to each other is such a favourite dynamic of mine when done right.
Her design is another thing that I love! It’s so retro/80s inspired (and I’m a big sucker for this aesthetic), that and also not making her a conventionally attractive woman is very refreshing to me.
She feels realistic to me, like she can be a canon side character introduced in the comic. It looks like you paid a lot of attention to detail when incorporating her as a character which you did an excellent job when writing her backstory!

For this blog, my art takes the main inspiration from mostly Evan Dorkin’s pilot of the Eltingville Club. Other inspiration comes from those 2000s cartoons like Clone High and Total Drama, I’m a 2003 baby so I’m a little biased with the y2k aesthetic. Comics such as Garfield and the Peanuts are another inspiration of mine (:
