I'm just curious about that post you reblogged earlier. In general what do you think about people who are not black wanting dreads? I say dreads in quotations because the name pertains to the history in which the hairstyle was most popular but isn't exactly a correct term for it itself. To put it simply what do you think about people who want to have this style that aren't of African descent?
I feel that the colour of your skin or your nationality should not dictate what kind of hair style you are "allowed" to have. If you're as pale as I am and you want dreadlocks, by all means, go get them. As long as your happy with it, it shouldn't matter. And it isn't the business of other people to tell you otherwise. I've seen a boy at school who wasn't of African descent with blond hair (maybe European?) that had dreadlocks. He seemed happy with them so who am I to judge? That's my two cents on the subject.
