I downloaded and read through one of the recent visual novel reblogs, and it had some very disturbing content in it right at the end. I didn't see a warning on it anywhere, and wouldn't have downloaded it had I known.

I’m not sure which game you are referring to. If you’d like to share a content warning, you can send it to me and I’ll add a note to the post.

Why.

There is a point when the artist must consider purpose: both of themselves and the form. Why make games? When the pixels and audio and prose and code are stripped away, what is one left with? Why work in a medium that requires so many different skill sets, is so potentially expensive and time-consuming, and receives so little regard?

I believe the answer is communication. All art forms communicate ideas, but the developer’s experience differs from that of the writer, musician, or artist in a fundamental way.

When the developer taps on the glass, the player taps back.

I encourage developers and players to submit game posts. The queue is low right now so this is a good time. Please include a link to the game or its website. That seems obvious but you’d be surprised.

Hi there! Do you also feature dev blogs or is it only fully released/complete games?

I’d like to start featuring a wider variety of content, including development blogs and game jam announcements. If you’ve got a dev blog announcement post, I’m happy to reblog provided it is either for a Ren’Py game or for a developer/group who is working with Ren’Py currently. Is it cool to submit a post about a game even if you're not the developer?

Sure. Informative posts in particular (rather than reviews or opinions) are much appreciated, I’ve little doubt many games fly under my radar.

are ur games virus free?

I do not download every game reblogged by FYR. That being said, I don’t reblog anything that looks unsafe, I’ve never downloaded a malicious file posing as a Ren’Py game. and I have never been notified of malicious links by my followers.
