How do you feel around Kincaid?
Well, I certainly feel safer around him than alone. That is, after all, what he was hired for.
Although to be honest (if not entirely professional), I also feel… almost like he’s more than just someone I’ve hired to protect me. I never knew my mother or my father or my grandmother because never mind, the reason doesn’t matter, just that I never knew them. Having Kincaid around all the time seems to me like what having family might be like.
Once there was a little girl named Ivy. She was a very good child, and she was very smart. She liked cats, and crayons, and reading. One day, she met a very grumpy wizard named Harry (no not that one). Harry would do anything to protect Ivy, and he was never grumpy around her. He let her play with his cat, Mister, who was also grumpy (but also not to Ivy), and he defeated anyone who hurt her. They became very good friends and had very fun tea parties at Harry's house with Kincaid, Ivy's 'dad.'
Aw, anon. This made me smile.
I don’t know about calling Kincaid my ‘dad’, though. He is my bodyguard, and he is known for loyalty to a client as long as there is a contract. Were ours to end, he would likely move on.
but I kind of wish he was my dad; I like him
askkincaid replied to your post: Hello Ivy, do you think you could badger Kincaid into letting you come to our Halloween party? It’s probably going to be at Harry’s, and Molly, Harry, Marcone, and Hendricks will be there. We’d love for you to come.
If you desperately desire to be there… I suppose something could be arranged. But you are absolutely, under no circumstances, allowed to leave my side that evening.
Thank you! Oh, I can't wait to go!
And I understand. I'll stay with you - even surrounded by friends, it's good to be cautious. Especially on Halloween.

That sounds like fun! Thank you for inviting us, Thomas.
Kincaid, Kincaid…! Can we please go?

Do not talk to this…thing. It would be ill advised to associate yourself with it.
So far we've only spoken through this web site... it isn't as if I plan to go find him in his lair in Undertown (or wherever he might be) and have a chat.
But if you think it best, I will keep my distance from Grimalkin online as well as off. I apologize.
