I got very mixed feelings for them and if I'm being honest I was disappointed by the way their relationship came to be in re.
I personally thought they were rushed and Touka didn't get enough moments of her own outside of her relationship with Kaneki.
It feels like no matter how many times I discuss this with touken shippers, my mind doesn't change, even though I do want to understand what everyone loves so much about this ship. If anyone wants to explain why they love touken in re please feel free to explain, I'm open to having my opinions changed 🙂↕️
I liked their interactions a lot in classic tg though.
If your still doing the random numbers ask 24, 30,31. Also, I'm loving the witch stories.
I am!
24- I’m 5 foot 4 inches. I have no idea what that is in metric sorry. 😣
30- fave tv shows are: Parks and Rec, Psych, and the great British baking show
31- three random facts:
1) I have 4 tattoos
2) My first memory is being carried down the aisle of an airplane
3) I hate carrots. I try them every year to see if I don’t hate them anymore and I still hate them. They don’t taste like what I think they should taste like. It’s crazy I know.
I just finished Tokyo Ghoul:re and I have a question. Why is the CCG still using quinques at the end? If they want peace with ghouls, using weapons made from ghouls feels wrong.Maybe I missed something.
Omg Anon perfect timing because I've been wondering the same thing for the past few days. What I've been thinking is that perhaps they're using existing quinques and don't create new ones anymore. I'm sure there would be ghouls bothered by the usage of quinques even after the dragon war but the priority is to fight off the dragon orphans.

Pairing: Oikawa x Sugawara
22. Two miserable people meeting at a wedding AU.
Suga’s fingers were laced uncomfortably in his lap, his tongue pressed against his cheek as he stared out at the crowd. The pews were filled with unfamiliar faces and Suga found himself staring at a sea of complete strangers. He only recognized one face, dear Asahi from work, but Asahi was sitting with his own clique and Suga wasn’t sure if he should intrude on that.
Suga had come to his assistant’s wedding out of support but no one he knew as available to be his plus one for the night, and he knew as a boss, he shouldn’t miss these kinds of events. But where was everyone else from work anyway? How did he end up alone?
The reception hadn’t started yet, soft chatter among the crowd overlayed the even softer background music. Suga was about to stand up and move to the very back pew for an easy escape after showing his face, but before he could squeeze out of the church pew, a young man slid in next to him, glasses perched high on his nose, and his hands shoved deep in his grey dress pants pockets.
Suga cast a glance at him to which the other returned his gaze easily. As he tried to quickly look away, the man smiled, his head cocking slightly.
“You look absolutely miserable being here,” the stranger noted, a large grin on his face.
Suga blinked hard, his eyebrows raising in response. “What?”
“I could see you all the way from the back. You look like a fish out of water. Did you come alone or something?”
Suga leaned back in his seat. The situation was a bit odd, especially since he was responding to this strange conversation, but he was fairly thankful for the company. Even if it was with someone he didn’t know.
“I did,” Suga began. “I couldn’t find someone to come with me, so I came by myself.” He cast the man a quick side-glance. “You seem to be by yourself, too. How do you know the newlyweds?”
“I know the bride, Hanako, through work,” the man responded. “And yeah, I’m also here by myself. I originally didn’t plan on coming, but felt like I should at least show my face.”
“Honestly, I wasn’t sure if I was going to come either. I know the groom, Kinoshita, through work as well. He’s my assistant, so… here I am.”
“I’m Oikawa Tooru, by the way,” the other introduced, his smile almost reaching his eyes.
“Sugawara Koushi,” Suga returned, his fingers still fiddling with each other in his lap. “I’m honestly just so ready to leave. I hate weddings.”
“You know what? Me too. They’re so boring and make me want to nap. Would it be rude if I just napped right here in the pews? I mean, maybe no one would notice.”
Oikawa sat up in his seat before angling himself so he was facing Suga a little better. Suga noticed the rolled up white dress shirt and noted how Oikawa hadn’t even bothered to iron his shirt out.
“I can tell you don’t want to be here,” Suga laughed, his right hand covering his mouth from being too loud in the soft ambience around them. “You’re the type to really let your discomfort show, huh?”
Oikawa insisted that he didn’t know what Suga was talking about but gave an exaggerated yawn in response anyway, his arms stretching out above his head. Suga had to repress another laugh due to Oikawa’s obvious nature. Oikawa’s humor was definitely something Suga found appealing if he were to be honest. It was possible that Suga had found something fun to do at this wedding, even if it was mocking the wedding itself with this stranger.
Oikawa crossed his arms over his chest and grinned once more. “Although, I heard that if we stick past the ceremony and go to the dinner, Hanako said there was an all-you-can-eat dessert bar at the end.”
Suga contemplated this for a moment. Ice cream or freedom? Suga was more of a spicy food kind of guy than a sweets one, but when he debated on whether or not that ice cream bar would also include Oikawa, he smirked. “I mean, dessert is cool and all, but I’m more interested in if you’re going to this dessert bar.”
“Hm,” Oikawa hummed, a slightly devious smile of his own surfacing. The wedding music began to play and everyone in the pews stood to welcome the bride. Oikawa threw a quick wink at Suga. “Well, it would be rude of us to not show our faces, don’t you think?” His voice was nothing but a whisper, trying to be discreet so he wouldn’t be rude talking during the ceremony. “Even though it’s clear neither of us particularly want to be here, and I so desperately need my beauty rest right now.”
And thus the ceremony began, Oikawa forcing exaggerated stretches and yawns as Suga snickered behind his right hand. Thankfully, Oikawa was subtle enough for others to not notice, and if Suga didn’t know what Oikawa was doing, he probably wouldn’t have paid him any attention either. It was obvious Oikawa wasn’t trying to be rude. He was just trying to lighten the dread he and Suga had about being at a wedding that neither of them wanted to attend.
As the ceremony concluded, vows and rings exchanged, the bouquet tossed, and the newlyweds walked down the aisle towards the front of the church, Oikawa and Suga grinned at each other, a feeling of accomplishment sweeping over them that the ceremony had concluded and that they were done with the hard part.
They finally reached outside, the crowd inside dispersing out front to go to their cars to drive to the banquet hall the dinner was planned to take place at. Suga’s hand pulled out his cell phone so he could call for a taxi, but Oikawa turned to him, his voice returning to normal volume.
“I could drive if you’d like, I drove my car here.”
Suga quirked an eyebrow but smiled. “Are you sure? It’s really not a problem—”
But Oikawa waved his hand in the air as he grinned, the smile reaching his eyes yet again. “It’s no problem. Plus, I need to make sure that you’re actually going to fulfill your end of the deal of meeting me at the dessert bar. What if you call a taxi and you ditch me to go home? That wouldn’t be fair, now would it, Suga-chan?”
Suga practically cackled at the nickname. Suga-chan?
“I mean, hey, ditching you after we had made it through the ceremony together?” He clutched his hand over his heart. “It feels like we’re comrades at this point. I couldn’t leave a fellow soldier behind, you know?”
Oikawa giggled but lead the way to his car, the two of them cutting through the crowd. He glanced over his shoulder at Suga who was practically beaming.
“Hey, and maybe it’d be cool if we sat at the same table. Don’t you think that’s a good idea? I mean, it’s to enhance our camaraderie after all.”
Suga laughed. “I mean, I suppose I do.”
They made it to Oikawa’s car and Suga felt his ears burn slightly as Oikawa opened the passenger door for him to climb inside the giant SUV. He didn’t take Oikawa to be an SUV owner. Maybe a luxury car, but something that resembled a soccer mom SUV was almost comical.
Suga climbed in and Oikawa shut the door behind him before entering his own side. “You know, I’m not a fan of sweets. But I’m so there now that I found some company.”
As the car began to reverse out of its parking spot, Suga took a moment to sneak a peek at Oikawa’s face as he looked out his back windows, his head turned to make sure he was reversing properly. There wasn’t any other word to describe this man other than just simply lovely.
But Suga caught his lack of a response as he finally muttered up a reply, his fingers clicking his seat belt in place. “I’m not either, but you know. For the camaraderie.”
As Oikawa laughed in return, pulling the car into Drive and pulling out onto the street, Suga sighed, something giddy forming inside of him.
Suga sure wasn’t a fan of attending weddings, but maybe this one could be an exception.
How do you feel about the Etoken ship? I always saw it as a what-if alternate universe that seemed interesting when it was going on.
I'm fine with almost every pair, Etoken just never piqued my interest so much ngl.. I do love their dynamic and they without a doubt look great together
