What are some lesser known stereotypes from the countries of Saligia?
Oh, I very much appreciate this question. Much the same as Earthen stereotypes between races and countries, there are also stereotypical beliefs between countries of origin in Saligia.
Avarians are often assumed to be aggressive and hostile in personality, originating from the typical behaviors of the Royal Family. (I apologize, Master Guy.)
Qelsans are assumed to be rather brusque and indifferent, and many believe that they do not let emotions or sentimentality get in the way of decision-making. Once again, this belief stems from the example of the Qelsan Royal Family- specifically His Majesty the King and Princess Idina.
Akedians are often assumed to be extremely lazy, and this drives some to the prejudice that persons of Akedian descent are unfit to lead or be in positions of power.
Invidians are seen as haughty by many of our other countries, due to their preferences for the finer things in life and it is a belief held by many that they assume they are better than persons originating from other countries because of that. Of course, this is ridiculously untrue.
Luxurians, of course, are held to the belief that their entire lives revolve around sexual pleasure and vices. However, while those things are a large part of traditional Luxurian culture, it is unfair to assume that is the only aspect of their lives that takes precedence. For example, artistic talent is much appreciated in Luxurean culture and is often overlooked by other countries.
Volerians are seen by many to be gluttons from the way food is involved in almost every facet of their culture. An unfair observation, as swordplay and talent for the musical arts are just as large in their cultural tradition.
Irians are largely assumed to be secretive, unfeeling, and aggressive due to the fact that they are a very private people. Their Royal Family does not care to spread the goings-on of their kingdom, and for that they are largely criticized. Most Irians are unfairly shunned by other countries- in fact, Qelsum has initiated a recent ruling that any person of Irian descent who wishes to enter Qelsum must first submit to a thorough background check and be housed in Crown-approved establishments that are monitored by the Quiritatio.
do u happen to have any tips for taking good studyblr photos?
good lighting is crucial!
sometimes it can help to choose an aesthetic: colour and style. usually, everybody has a natural aesthetic they chose, their personal style.
take neutral backgrounds, so your notes are in focus (if that’s sth u want, ofc!). but also add little fun details, such as plants, pen(cils), fruits, stationary.
get inspired by looking around studyblr and try recreating some photos that speak to you. could be a enjoyable little weekend activity!
angles! they’re also important for taking photos of your study session: bird view, follow the 1/3-rule (when using a grid it’s especially easy to see), and zoom in until u have 1.5 zoom to avoid distortions.
please never feel pressured to live up to a standard or way of taking studyblr photos!! 🤍 first and foremost, taking photos and sharing content should be about having fun and being creative!
how do you feel about steven's moral alignment if you had to pin it? (aka, do you think he's neutral evil, true neutral, etc etc, anything off the character moral alignment chart)
OOOOHH okay okay so, me personally, i think that he would be lawful neutral.
Actually, probably on the whole lawful spectrum at points.
Since he is quiitee the awful boss and person in general in the first game, doing things that i would evaluate as "evil" such as framing Jack for murder, all while still estimating murder itself as too evil. Although he didn't really bother whenever someone died in the springlock suit...
That's it, he never really bothered in general after he got springlocked. I would say he definitely is lawful, since he always sticked to his "cause" or, what was made to be his cause after being turned into a Phoney. Always doing what Fazbenders demands/expects from him, such as sending Peter to the factory. Which is quite the awful thing to do. But it is lawful in that sense as well as.. evil? Would be quite lawful if he did it for the companies sake and his loyalty to it, which he does seem quite attached to in general ooorr he might've done it for selfish reasons. Cause he's a coward. Which woouuld push him more to "evil"
All the while,, before he was a Phoney, i would clearly say lawful good as much as we can tell from how far the story goes. Cause he had the moral backbone to stick up to Henry after seeing him murder children and tried to stop him, even to his own demise.
After that ig he just kinda.. broke? I mean it is quite a thing to go through. He probably just got scared and even abandoned his morality to follow orders and just stopped caring for anything besides that. Using every opportunity to let out his frustration on his employees in being an angry ass. (Plus his loss of memory,, which doesn't scrap everything from how it seems, but it does change quite a bit of the Phoneys former personalities logically.)
Maybe he was just too scared from then on, too scared to face the consequences of his actions after that one action led to his own doom. Or just afraid that (since we don't know how much he had before being a phoney) that he loses the only thing that he still has and that might still be important to him (his job) if he disobeys. And fears getting fired. Or rather discontinued i suppose... i sure got a bone to pick with that damn boss of fazbenders
Apart from all that, can't forget that he did stick up to all he did in the end (even if just after lots of pursuing..,) apologised and wanted to make up for it. So he definitely can't be inherently evil. I think he's juuust a big ass coward.
Sooo yeah my conclusion would be lawful neutral all in all! Haha.. i totally did not enjoy this question.. thank you so much.
Friend! This was fun but you made me think so hard for that last one...
Appendix - FOUND FAMILIES! I am a huge sucker for platonic love and I never want to see this trope die.
Volume - Is that “did not finish”? Cause that would be The False Prince. Sounded like a really interesting plot, but I did not enjoy the writing or the main character. I hate to leave things unread cause I’ve already invested time in it (a quality my grandfather and I shared) so I may come back to it in the future.
Index - This is a hard one because most of my favorite characters are awful people and a danger to my person. After consulting with my siblings, Tamwyn Eopia from The Great Tree of Avalon would make a great best friend. What really stuck with me was his greatest motivator in book I was reuniting with his brother. He wasn’t conceited or arrogant, he simply wanted to help the people he loved. He’s humble and kind and we’d have fun going on walks in the forest together!
AHHHH! he's never baked anything before! how did this happen! how does he put this out?!
nooooo 😭 please call percy. he will not only put the fire out but also give jason lots of hugs even if jason might be banned from the kitchen for a while.
Jercy proposal but they both independently got rings to propose (they’re just that in sync lmao).
Jason gets down on one knee and starts proposing meanwhile Percy gets annoyed and says no. Just to pull out a ring box from his pocket a minute later going “you can’t propose because I am going to propose.”
This stressed the fuck out of Jason for a few thinking that he ruined everything bc Percy said no. But of course, Percy would never say no to Jason he just wanted to be the one to propose.
“No!”
The word stabs through Jason’s heart like a freshly sharpened knife—the sound of rejection more excruciating than Caligula’s spear years ago.
The sound of Percy’s rejection.
Down on one knee, his relationship with Percy seems to flash before him. They’ve been happy, right?
It took a while before they made it official, sure. But he’s been a good boyfriend, has he not? He’s always known he doesn’t deserve someone as vivacious, as perfect as Percy, but he’s always assured Jason he loves him.
That he loves Jason both when he’s ‘too Roman’, overthinking things, being too calculative and when he’s starting to become more open, more carefree, more spontaneous.
Even when Jason hasn’t figured it all out, he’s been with Percy long enough to know that there’s no one else other than Percy Jackson. But now that he rejects Jason’s proposal—
Fuck, is it the ring? Maybe Percy doesn’t like the this shade of blue? Is it too simple? Has Percy finally thought he could’ve done better?
—maybe they’re not on the same page. They did talk about having a family someday, but perhaps—
“Oh gods, Jay, baby. No, I don’t mean it that way,” Percy whispers against him. He smells like that salted caramel drink Jason’s come to love. When did he become so close?
He registers himself being pulled up from the ground. This is it, perhaps Jason is really meant to be someone’s companion only for a time. Percy is a wonderful lover, but it seems that even he, doesn’t see Jason as someone to spend forever with. He can’t really blame him.
Hands cup his face, his glasses being taken off and by routine, he knows they’d go on Percy’s head, as he does every time he kisses Jason.
But he doesn’t kiss Jason now.
Instead he… wipes Jason’s cheeks? He didn’t know when tears started to fall. “Babe, please look at me.” Percy looks beautiful against the cozy lighting of their apartment, in Jason’s purple hoodie and his own gray sweat pants.
“I should have made it more special, didn’t I?” his voice cracks, regretting how, of all occasions he’d act impulsively, it would have to be today.
It’s been a slow and very normal afternoon, but there’s something about going home to the person you love—clad in your clothes and cooking your favorite meal and smiling up to you like you’re the most precious person in their world.
“Gods, no! It’s perfect. You’re perfect, Jay. It’s just that—ugh, of course you have to do it first!”
