(Has the housemaiden ever told you about The Cursing of Château Castle? You're not sure. Best to play it safe.)
(You hold the book to your chest and think. You'll have to use her name to get her attention, won't you? You don't like doing that much anymore... it's easier to watch your actors die when you focus on their roles instead. But you still remember it, of course. What kind of friend would you be if you didn't?)
Traveler: "Hey, Mirabelle!"
Housemaiden: "Huh? What is it?"
(She turns to look at you, and you try to ignore the nagging feeling that you've forgotten something as you hold out the book to her.)
Traveler: "This is the kind of book you like, isn't it?"
Housemaiden: "The Cursing of Château Castle?"
Housemaiden: "Oh, yes! I must have read it a hundred times! Lord Joséphandre's story is so moving, and the ending! The first time I finished it I didn't know what to make of it, but it's amazing that the whole time, the man who did such heroic things was–"
Housemaiden: "WAIT THAT'S SPOILERS"
Housemaiden: "Anyway, yes! I love this book! I have a copy in my room, actually!"

Housemaiden: "It shouldn't have been... this book shouldn't exist. How is it...?"
(You feel the researcher's gaze on you. Oh no.)
Researcher: "What shouldn't exist?"
Housemaiden: "This book Siffrin found! It says it's issue 87 of a series, but the series doesn't exist! It's just one book!"
Researcher: "Let me see that."
(The researcher takes the book from the housemaiden. She looks at it for a long moment, then at you. You swallow.)
Researcher: "...Where did you find this, Siffrin?"
(Same excuse. Use the same excuse.)
Traveler: "It was... on the shelf?"
(She looks at you skeptically.)
Researcher: "I find that hard to believe. People don't generally leave Crafted books from series that don't exist just lying around."
Fighter: "Crafted books?"
Kid: "Why would you Craft a book?"
(They're all looking at you. You can see the suspicion in the researcher's gaze, and the confusion in everyone else's.)
(Better come up with something quick before they–
