I love your alastor so much. Has anyone ever told you he looks like Giancarlo Esposito??

Thank you! And not enough people have! Because his appearance is 100% inspired by Giancarlo Esposito! I wanted to take a different route to the Cab Calloway inspiration, because I wanted Alastor to have a more aloof vibe, and that was when I started thinking of Giancarlo, based on what i remembered of the character he played in Breaking Bad.

He has this extremely elegant air about him, and I really wanted to capture that in Alastor, but also be able to appear extremely soft and human when he drops his mask a little, as well as extremely dangerous when he needs to be (like Gus Fring is).

plus it also really helps that Giancarlo in Mo Better Blues really looks like he's from Alastor's era, if not Alastor himself

First off , I love this noir , whimsical vision you have of Hazbin ! It made me wondered if you had ever thought of, drew or wrote about Heaven , how Heaven was when Lucifer was still there ? Possible other brothers beside Michael ? Thanks in advance !

Thank you so much! I'm glad people like my obsessions! To answer your question: I haven't given Heaven as much thought as Hell but there have been certain things I've been pondering about. Definitely not so much in my art, though I have made some drawings of Michael and thought about his character a little:

As for Heaven itself - while I haven't drawn it, I do like to think of how it might work. Basically I approach Heaven from the perspective of someone who's damned anyways and does not much care for the Christian vision of the afterlife. So to me, heaven is an unobtainable and unreachable place that only makes its presence known through violent subjugation.

It is obsessed with its vision of divine order and its extremely restrictive views of good and evil. It is part of a system put in place by a dictatorial and authoritarian god (Father) who killed himself (and tried to end the universe) in a fit of rage when Lucifer resisted him by giving Adam and Eve the gift of free will. In my idea, at this point Heaven is dealing with its legacy of a profoundly unjust concept and there are two main factions within it: several of the elders (including Michael) think the system is fine as is, and the only thing wrong with it is that it needs to get more violent, more cruel, and fast, to squash rebellions in Hell once and for all. (extreme parts of this faction want to destroy the universe entirely and rebuild it to the 'perfect' image of what they believe Father wanted) The other faction believes reform is possible - Sera and Emily are its main proponents. Sera (who was made by Father, and still feels some loyalty to him) wants to implement mild reforms because she isn't completely convinced the system is unjust, and Emily (who never knew Father) is much more radical, wanting a complete overhaul and making a more just system from the bottom up. In a sense, Emily has Lucifer's original purpose and hopes, even though, personality-wise, she's much more like Charlie. Sera recognises this part in her and is afraid she'll turn out like Lucifer, which is why she is so protective of her. She doesn't know what she is more afraid of: to be convinced by Emily and that a full dismantlement of the system is necessary, or that she will have to deal with Emily some day in the same way she did with Lucifer. She doesn't think she can experience that loss again.

I hope you like my takes! I don't think my ideas are that much different from the show, just a little more noir-like and my interpretations on the characters are slightly darker!
