So, I think screenshotting the tags is weird because the tags to me are personal commentary, not a conversation! In my experience, people who do that also tend to add the screenshot to a reblog of the original post which, my siblings in christ, if I wanted to add to the reblog I wouldn't have used tags in the first place! 😅
Totally valid.
If you saw something amazing in the tags of a reblog of your post, how would you surface that greatness to everyone?
Hi there! I'm kind of in the process of readying a site for soft launch, and I was hoping to advertise with you. Your rules say no NSFW ads, and I'm a little unsure of whether mine would be classified as NSFW by your standards. The background image behind text is a gif of a nude woman, but her bits are covered + I added effects to make it even harder to see (clouds and gaussian blur). So it's basically more suggestive than anything. Does that still count as NSFW?
Generally we count any form of nudity as NSFW. The rule of thumb is if the image can't be opened at work or if it would be awkward for you to have it open while co-workers walk by it's NSFW. You can always submit it and we will let you know. Thank you for asking!
Queue Adjustments
We've adjusted our queue times slightly and we have also increased the amount of ads we're posting per day. We've been loving all of the new submissions, keep them coming, but if you haven't seen your submission come through yet please just be patient with us. We currently have over 80 items in the queue. Hopefully the adjustments to the queue will help chip away at that number. If you have any questions, please feel free to shoot us an ask.

Hey all! Could you describe the difference between semi-private and private sites, in terms of how things are typically done differently from a public site? Thank you.
Absolutely! All public, semi-private, and private sites are different, however we can give you a brief breakdown of the basics.
As we all know, anyone is able to join a public site at any time. Public sites typically have a lot of ghosting, people coming and going, low character development, and short lifespans. Not always. There are several public sites that have been around for a long time but typically. Public sites burn hot. They generate a lot of buzz, are super exciting for a couple of weeks, and then slowly fizzle out. Public sites tend to have more rigorous activity requirements as well. Be it weekly thread posting or one thread post every 14 days.
Semi-private and Private sites differ in how and when you are able to join them, if at all. Also the environments and communities tend to be different. Most semi-private sites require potential members to fill out a membership application. You cannot simply decide to join and register an account like you can on public sites. These applications are meant to get a feel for potential members and gauge how a potential member will fit into their community. From what we've seen and heard, semi-private sites use membership applications to help cut down on ghosting (a lot of these sites prefer long-term plots and character development and do not appreciate the constant turn over in the rpc) and to help prevent potential problematic members from disrupting their community. There are probably a lot of other reasons as well but those seem to be the two most common we've seen. Semi-private sites tends to have members that stick around for longer periods of time, tend to have a lot of character development, and tend to be closer communities than public sites. They usually don't generate the initial "shiny new" buzz that public sites do but they typically last a lot longer. Their rules are also usually more relaxed in terms of activity requirements. Private sites are just that, private. They typically do not advertise as they do not accept new members. Private sites are usually a group of already established writing partners / friends. They have a very close community, they all write with each other, and they are typically a small group. They write what they want and likely don't have the constraints of site rules / settings / activity requirements / ect because they are just writing with friends. Their group doesn't leave. They are not looking to add new members to their site and you probably won't even know the site exists.
There are pros and cons to all three. Each community is different and not all of them will follow the typical guidelines we've listed above. What we've listed are just the usual basic differences between the three. Like we said though there are public sites that have super close communities that have been around for years. Just like there are semi-private sites that close after a month and have a lot of ghosting. We hope this helps and answers your question!
Any chance you’ll ever center sites that aren’t overrun by teeny bopper faces
We post what’s submitted to us. You are more than welcome to advertise your Jcink site that features a broad range of faces if you’d like.
Hey ATRers,
We've recently been approached about photosensitivity and certain animation effects that are being included in ads. Moving forward, any "glitching" or "flashing" effects on any submission will be appropriately tagged with a photosensitivity warning. We absolutely agree that these effects can be triggering and we appreciate the anon who pointed this out to us. In addition, we would like to highly encourage roleplayers to provide a static (non-animated) version when submitting ads to ATR if your ads do include these types of animations.
Thank you,

Your semi-private site link on your nav page is broken.
Oops, sorry about that. It should be all fixed now. Thank you for letting us know!
