Can people with did intentionally create a new alter? Like there's this character from a media I love who I'm pretty sure has did, and some of the voices in his head only appear after doing certain things and they sometimes want something that conflicts with what the host wants, except this one guy is there with him in almost every scene and he's like. the voice of reason, always trying to find the most peaceful solution and trying to do the right thing, but if the host wants to do something mean he says he's gonna be there with him the whole way. It made me wonder if he was intentionally created by the host as a sort of guide/caretaker/whatever the term is to help him through life, but I don't know if that's even possible. Is it?
