dude that made me cry 4 times. in that 150 minutes i cried 4 times.

I REALLY LOVED IT YOU WERE RIGHT. God their friendship meant so much to me. Rocky's my favorite I love him he makes me laugh. Me when I fist my bump like okay bro. He's so sassy as well??? ALSO THE HARRIER DU BOIS ASS BEGINNING. Losing your memories and having to put it back together through clues like why is this an underlying theme.

Also radiation poisoning. Wow why does everyone keep getting radiation poisoned!!! Honestly I've got so much to say about project hail mary it was beautiful.

Man the whole time during the scene where they're fishing and the ship is crashing out my head was just going "hull breach" over and over again. Iron lung flashbacks yippee.... I CAN'T BELIEVE IT WAS A HAPPY ENDING LIKE I CAME INTO THAT THINKING IT WAS TRAGIC AND THAT'S WHY IT KEPT GETTING PAIRED WITH IRON LUNG. APPARENTLY NOT?? I WAS SO PLEASANTLY SHOCKED

smth about friendship like holy hell I love my friends so much and so do rocky and grace—they did a wonderful job of developing their friendship in a way that made me really care about them. And haha yeah I like me a good amnesiac start

Frankenstein ofc

All of the following are books that if you want to ask me anything about or talk to me about at all I’d be honored and very happy to yap and listen 🫶 the obsession never really left 

Not in order of importance 

Dracula- im a heavy Dr Seward supporter no shock here. Dracula daily was a gift from the gods, fanartwise 

Island of Dr Moreau- not a fandom at all but I was so weirdly obsessed with this book and still am. Dressed as Edward Prendick for Halloween. Forced my mom to read it. That did not go so well. Tried to triangulate the location of the island on a map. There are def problematic aspects to this book but the heart wants what it wants ig 💀

Herbert west- I really enjoyed the short stories but the movies completely sold me. I love you Herbert and Dan and Meg. I love you weird eyeball hand creature. I love you campy gore, eyebrow raising scenes, and shaking men. 

Crime and punishment- read this in a week, couldn’t put it down. Wouldn’t stop talking about it. I drew a ton of fanart but I lost that when I lost my old sketchbook (💔💔💔💔). Razumikhin is my husband and my wife and im holding him in my arms rn. Stalking @/carcinogenical for art always.

Brothers karamazov- you already know…

Divine comedy- you already know…Virgil….my sweet Virgil….

Sherlock Holmes- This was my entire childhood and my entire now. There is nothing in my life I have loved more. Grew up convinced i would either be Holmes or find a Holmes to be a Watson too. I believe in the power of friendship. I know everything there is to know about these tories and their adaptations and all the societies and papers and writing that came from this. I can’t even begin to stress how formative these stories are. These stories were my first love.

The Glass Scientists- so I’m not really in the fandom and it’s not really classic lit, but it IS a beautifully drawn highly enjoyable queer webcomic where the main character is Henry Jekyll (from Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde) and he’s in charge of a large collection of scientists who work in the same building. I just explained it horribly but it’s full of so many classic lit references and it’s wonderful. I recommend fully— physical copies of at least volume one are available!! Ofc I bought it.

The portrait of Dorian Gray- not necessarily a fandom but I did enjoy this book (except for excessive use of the word ‘quivering’). I named my basil plant Basil Hallward and read it parts of this book when it was dying (it revitalized). Lord Henry Wotton is an icon and he’s horrible and I love him. 💅💅💅

Demien- not really a fandom but the weirdest book I’ve ever read. Ends with the male main character kissing his also male friend on the lips but the kiss is meant for his friend’s mother. Main character is a MILF hunter. That’s probably the most normal part. Recommend? Perhaps, it’s short. 

Hercule poirot mysteries- I’ve watched the entire tv series and read a bunch of the books. I love Hastings but he got seriously nerfed :( miss him being competent instead of goofy or both. I have a bit of art for this

Limbus company- not a book (a game) but all the characters are inspired by classic lit I’ve read a lot of! Special mention for Gregor (based on my lovely Gregor samsa bug guy from metamorphosis. Kafka I love you forever and ever)

Lord of the rings/the hobbit- childhood favs 💕💕💕 I’ve read the hobbit multiple times and im halfway through lord of the rings (although each movie I’ve literally watched over ten times unfortunately im insane). Hobbit movies are fine but I’m a freak for LOTR trilogy specifically

The Scarlet Letter: OKAY HERE ME OUT

Read it for class but I’m captain of the dimmsworth chillinsdale crack ship. I’ve made two animatics I need to post (both are goofy as well). This one clicked with me for some reason (hot Dimmesdale priest man I love to see a man suffer). I’ve thought about it way more than anyone should think about a school book

Les Miserables: OUGHHHH you already know. Only time I’ve seen the musical is in a high school production, but I NEED to see another version sometime. Javert is me and I am him and we are nothing alike. Jean Val jean is a sweetheart. Marius is really freaking weird. 1878 movie version with Anthony Perkins has my heart. I’ve only read part of the book but I lurk heavy in the fandom 😭

Louise penny Gamache series- middle aged women’s book club type series but it’s so freaking good and I’ve read 19/20 books in the series. I’ve made crazy amounts of fanart for this but I can’t share because nobody talks about it… it’s a modern police mystery small town type series but it deals with some really interesting topics. 

20,000 leagues under the sea- I NEED to make more fanart for this one. It’s my comfort book. Arronax is a freak. Conseil is insane. Ned land is me. Nemo might just have to make some sort of toxic podcast. So close to mapping out their entire journey on google maps because im crazy. Thank you arronax for nonstop descriptors of sea life and words I will probably skip pst. Weird amount of affection for this one. Just bought a lovely new copy for $1.50 at a book sale.

Other classics I’ve read that don’t really have fandoms but I liked: The stranger by Camus, great Gatsby by f Scott Fitzgerald, the penal colony and metamorphosis by franz kafka (hggggg pookie 🪳🪳🪳),  master and margarita (currently reading but it’s looking good. TALKING ABOJT PONTIUS PILATE??? AND JUDAS?? Two of the most compelling Bible characters to me?? Instant win), the Bible (i haven’t read it all the way through but im highly familiar. Amazing piece of history), lord of the flies (i have fanart for this but very little and it’s old so the odds I post it are kind of low unless requested), anything by hg wells lowkey i love the invisible man and the Time Machine

Fandoms I like rn but aren’t books: Malevolent podcast 😛😛😛, wolf359 podcast 🥸, the Magnus archives podcast, pathologic game, disco elysium 💃🕺, identity v, HANNIBAL dhdhehndndn ugh I love Hannibal, psych 2006 tv, white collar tv, house MD, probably more
