wait what are the "obvious problems in atla" :O sorry for sounding silly by asking!
no worries! I probably shouldn't have said "obvious," I know a lot of people watched atla when they were younger and the issues are less glaring than they were in lok, which tries to take a more "mature" (lol) look at politics.
atla has some of the same pro-status quo/anti-radical activism issues as lok but on a smaller scale, since it's a kid's show. fighting back against your oppressors makes you a bad guy (jet and that blood bender katara meets, I don't remember her name) and they do the whole "this group is oppressed so they're standing up for themselves, which is good, but uh oh now they're burning down an orphanage for some reason!" thing.
they also "redeem" war criminals like uncle iroh and zuko with little to no consequences. meanwhile jet is killed offscreen. it seems like even when people are aware of these issues, they tend to ignore them because nostalgia.
