2: Which character did the game handle the best? Why?
Himiko, because her development is clear and easy to see. Pre-chapter 3, she’s more lazy and reluctant to show her feelings. Post-chapter 3, you can see that she’s trying harder to be more involved and less seclusive than she used to be.
4: Did free time events change your opinion about a certain character? What did you learn about the character through these events?
Again, I’ll say Himiko, but also Tenko. For Himiko, I thought she was more seclusive of her feelings, but when I watched her free-time events, I saw that she cared a lot about her master and saw him as an idol of some sort, so I learned that she didn’t hide her true feelings all the time. As for Tenko, I learned that she didn’t hate men because of a tragic/traumatic event, which is what part of me was thinking at first. I also learned that she could possibly learn to tolerate men, and this could have been a form of her character development had she lived past chapter 3.
12: Who is the most underrated character? What makes them stand out to you?
Ryoma, without a doubt. Not only does his voice and design stand out, his backstory in general stands out to me: a former tennis star who ended up killing an entire mafia when they killed his girlfriend and family, leading to him being arrested and placed on death row and having almost no purpose to keep living. I feel like if he had survived past chapter 2, he could’ve gotten more development or found a reason to keep living.
20: Does Shuichi make a good protagonist? Why or why not?
I think he does. Like with Himiko, you can see how he develops after a certain point in the story; in Shuichi’s case, it’s after Kaede’s death. Before that, he was less confident and afraid to reveal the truth; as the story goes on, you can see that he is starting to gain more confidence in himself and his friends as they go through the class trials.
