hey i wanna pursue classics in uni but i havent studied anything related to it in high school and im worried i might be behind everyone else?

the thing about uni is that you’re always be behind someone and in front of someone. you might be behind the kid who took latin and greek for 6 years prior to uni, but you’re waaaaay ahead of the kid who isn’t going to find out they want to be a classicist until their third year. also, things happen to shift when you actually get in school.

asdlfjkl; my one friend is greek (from lesbos!) and he found out i was starting to learn ancient greek and that i knew the alphabet and stuff and so now at lunch he tortures me by making my american anglophone ass read antigone out loud in ancient greek and in modern greek bc learning the modern greek pronunciation is "very important" (and he loves to see me suffer)

this is ???? torture??? my greek professor makes me do this and it is AWFUL

Hey, is your youtube channel going to be general courses and lessons about classics and languages or are you going to discuss about classics and sources in a more specific/specialized way ? Also what is this "very cool school" you're attending because it looks beautiful.

Hi there!

I think it’s gonna be a specialized channel! I have videos up currently of me teaching quick lessons from Mastronarde, but that was only because those videos were required for my Greek class. For the most part, it’s going to be disorganized tiny bursts of history conversations.

The school is Agnes Scott College! It really is gorgeous.
