Updated Ponies With Descriptions! Plus 1 New Pony To Ask!

Fable: An authoress who loves video games and happy endings. She’s got a knack for creating characters and moving people with her stories. It’s her goal in life to inspire as many ponies as she can with her books. She lives in her foalhood friend, Sketches’, home in Ponyville with Sketches’ fiance and their other foalhood friend Flying Vee. She is also in a committed relationship with a journalist with two adopted children. Her coltfriend is named Cursive Virtue, and his kids are a blind filly named Lillian Lovelace, and a young griffon named Chuck.

Mod Note: Sketches, Flying Vee, and Swift Bolt (Sketches’ fiance) are not my OCs. The first two are my best friend’s characters, and the last is someone I rp’d with a little’s character. Cursive Virtue, Lillian Lovelace, and Chuck are also not my characters. I don’t know how to link their names here, but the owner of Chuck and the owner of Sketches both have a tumblr here :3

Lacey Tail: Former actress, current fashion designer. She is skilled in making beautiful clothing for mares and stallions alike, though she favors dresses. She is unable to smile easily or change the tone of her voice at will, due to a heredity birth trait that makes her seem emotionless and uninterested. Though she is truly a kind-hearted mare. She is happily in a relationship with Grailan Matter, a pegasus mare who can see past Lacey’s walls. Lacey Tail has two brothers and three sisters. She lives in a boutique/home in Ponyville, where she sells various clothing items and rooms with her marefriend. She is Fable’s cousin, the only other person besides her immediate family and her partner that she can smile at.

Mod Note: Grailan Matter is my ex-boyfriend’s character. Her siblings all belong to me though <3

Sterling: Raised in Canterlot to a high-class family who runs a mining company, Sterling Silver was destined for great things. However he never found his calling until the year his parents sent him to work in the mine so he wouldn’t grow soft. There he unearthed a diamond, and turned it into a necklace. He realized his true calling in life was to make jewelry, so he went through business school and planned to open up a store to sell his crafts when he graduated. However on the eve of graduation, he attended the class gala, where he fell in love with a beautiful pegasus named Cascadia. 

Years later the two were married with two adorable foals. Silver Wing and Pluto Ingot. A year after their youngest, Pluto, was born, Cascadia up and disappeared, leaving behind a note explaining that she didn’t want to be with Sterling anymore. So they divorced and Sterling took full custody of their children, with the youngest told she was just on vacation, because Sterling had no idea how to tell her.

Currently, Sterling is dating a younger stallion named Danger Stride.

Mod Note: Cascadia and Silver Wing are also my characters. I designed Pluto Ingot for my best friend, and Danger Stride belongs to the darling ask-assbuttponies blow owner. Also so sorry for the photo /D It's the only transparent bg one I have of him and I was super tired when I drew it so his face looks dumb.

Mod Note: His name is a WIP. Also, he’s a main character in a story I have been trying to write for awhile XD

The Reluctant Prince: He’s not from Equestria, but his country is a neighbor to its border. The Prince of that country, actually. But he doesn’t want to be, at least not anymore. He would have ditched the crown and cape a long time ago if they weren’t the only memento of his late parents. With his country under siege from a twisted race of creatures, he is expected to come out of hiding and re-take the throne. But he ran away long ago and he refuses to return. He’ll continue hiding in the forest, amongst the small creature that glow and wear the faces of ponies.

Mod Note: Little Red is in an alternate universe that is slightly less modern. Werewolves exist and there may be other supernatural creatures too. Also planning to write a story for her. Also I did not draw this picture! I adopted her and haven't drawn her yet so yeah :3

Little Red: The mare never knew her parents growing up. She was raised by her Grandmother and never once asked about them. She could learn all she needed to from old photos and journals she found lying around. She thought her father had been a creative writer, because his stories were filled with horror and monsters. But that wasn’t the case. She learned the truth about the world when she came home to find blood everywhere, and a monster in her grandma’s bed. Now she hunts werewolves, and the answer to the question; ‘What happened to my parents?’

Stutter: The only deer/pony hybrid in the herd, besides his siblings. Stutter was born with complications that made him struggle to breathe and almost killed him. But in the end he was saved. He’s a runt and has a speaking impairment from the oxygen being cutoff from him at birth. He stutters with almost every word and he’s a little slow on the uptake. When he’s nervous, scared, or confused his stuttering worsens and sometimes he just stops talking. Many of the other young bucks and does ignore him, leaving him to find solace with flowers like the red ones he wears. He is often called ‘buck-bucker’ (gay), a freak, and hybrid (derogatory).

Mod: You can also ask ‘Older Stutter’ questions. He is a happier buck and is in a relationship with a fabulous stallion named Bo-Ho. Who is another one of ask-assbuttponies’s characters.

Mod Note: Flint is a fan-species pony. I don’t really have a name for his kind yet, but they are essentially mer-ponies adapted a method of camouflage similar to squids though. Their bodies are covered in black dots, which are called chromatophores. Chromataphores are used to change the pigment of one’s skin quickly. They are connected to the nervous system and are under full control of the (name of species here). The (Species) can move these cells throughout their body, change their size, and shape. This is how (species) and squids are able to change their colors to match their surroundings. Squids also have a thing inside them that they use to create light in the dark oceans depths. I don’t remember what it’s called or how it works, but these ponies’ fins and chest will illuminate in the dark. Yay for bioluminescence X3

So basically these ponies can produce and control the intensity of light from their bodies, and can do this to change the color of their chromataphores. This is all natural and the creatures mainly use this to hide, attract prey, or to communicate with others of their kind.

All (species) a naturally lighter body color, where it darkens at the top and lightens at the bottom. This is very common in marine life. Because a lighter underside will make a creature above you harder to spot, and a darker top will make it harder to see them under you in the ocean. They also all have a mane on their heads, which acts and feels like a normal pony’s mane (just wetter and salt-water-y-er). These hippocampus ponies live in salt water, and will suffocate in freshwater. However they are able to breathe air-, it just takes a moment for their gills to close and their lungs to work.

(Species) are naturally perceptive and artistic. Their eyes are sharper than regular ponies, and that is how they are able to perceive their environment quickly to create an efficient coat of camouflage. They have excellent hearing in the ocean, but on land it is more difficult. They communicate by manipulating their naturally produced body light, and have no verbal language besides hissing and singing.

They are carnivorous, and feed on fish, cephalopods, crabs, and rarely seaweed. More often than not though they make accessories out of shells, seaweed, and fish bones. Their teeth are sharp and poke out of their upper lip. They use their fangs for grabbing prey, and then their duller back teeth for chewing. However when they want to preserve the bones, they strip the skin with their sharper teeth.

NEW! Flint: He lives in deep ocean water by himself, never straying too far from the area of which he has claimed as his own. He likes to lounge on underwater rocks, and hunt fish. He has recently come into contact with a strange creature that is kind of like him, but different. He likes the creature, and sometimes swims with him.
