What really bothers me about @ask-hothead-the-mare ‘s bullshit is how much of a deliberate slap in the face it is for anyone who is struggling for money or trying to pay their bills through art.
Because he’s a 16 year old kid, with a brand new computer, a tablet, a phone, all paid for by his parents, but he has the fucking gall to sit here and beg people for money in exchange for…what? MS Paint circles? Pony Maker Dolls? What he’s doing isn’t even art. Art takes effort. Art takes consideration. Art comes from you, not a dress up game made by someone else. You have to at least give a shit about what you’re doing, and it’s clear he doesnt. He only cares about getting money and attention.
Honestly, how fucking dare he bring up homelessness. Homeless people have nothing. They have no computers, no phones, no tablets, they don’t even have a home, some don’t even have shoes, and you have the fucking gall to compare yourself to that? What the fuck do you know about being homeless? You apparently have enough luxury to spend your free time making shitty ms paint comics about how no one is paying for your porn subscriptions, so really do tell, what kind of struggles are you going through that are on par with being starving, afraid, and cold every single day of your life?
Whats most appalling is that he actually added “straight up not even trying” as an invalid reason to not give someone money. There are artists who spend hours and hours a day just working on commissioned art, and then they go to another part time job, just to get by. They don’t have mommy and daddy to buy their lunch, it’s either draw or starve. They put their hearts and souls into their work, not just because they have to, but because they love making art. These same people are now being asked to just give out their hard earned money, money they got from hours of fine tuning and hard work, to some random fuck who actually thinks he’s entitled to payment? Are you on drugs?
Your patreon is sitting empty because you have not earned the money you’re asking for. You’ve not produced content that justifies the payment you’re expecting. This is a business, not a charity, and if you actually want to get anywhere in the art industry, I highly suggest you get up off your spoiled, privileged ass, and actually produce your own content, not a bunch of MS Paint circles and pony maker dolls. We’re not your parents. We don’t owe you shit.
