Graves knocks softly on the door, waiting for a come-in before he actually enters the room. Hey, he can be a proper gentleman alright?
He sits down on the bed next to you, and hums. "My old man told me a story once. About a miner whose life goal was to make enough money he didn't have to work another day in his life if he didn't want to." He starts out, fiddling with his hands. "That miner's pops told him he was a quitter. Told him he'd never find a wife 'cause he was too busy working. Eventually, the old man's words got a hold of him. He quit his mining job, the one he loved despite the ups and downs, and took a comfy white collar job." He pauses for a moment. "He married a golddigger, and despite the fact he was a businessman, he had basically no money. Well, the ex-miner turned on the news one day, and he saw on it that some guy had continued mining where he left off, and that motherfucker found gold. If only he hadn't listened to his dad, maybe he would've found it." He looks at you, eyes a little saddened. "You shouldn't be this upset over a motherfucker who doesn't give a rat's ass about you. They like drama, but if you let them steal your joy, you miss out on the gold." Graves leans in, giving you a small hug before standing. "I believe there's another person I gotta talk to, but... You be safe now, ya' hear?" - @ask-philgraves
Jeanz sat beside him and listened quietly, feeling the story hit home. She gave Graves a small smile, returning the hug, feeling much better than she had been lately. "Thanks, Graves....I really needed ta hear tha'. I'll make sure ta stay safe. Make sure ye keep yerself safe as well, okay?"
