Head canon- If Roy had actually died.

Blood drained from her face, a stillness overcame her. Hands were numb as she swept rigid fingers across his handsome face. He was so still, so completely and utterly still.

"Roy."

It was almost impossible to utter his name. It fell from her lips in a broken whimper, unbridled anguish obvious in her quiet intonation. Despite everything they'd ever been through, from their endless fighting to the moments of absolute tenderness, she had never in her life truly thought to imagine what it would be like without him.

But now she was.

He was gone.

Tears dripped from her eyes, trailed down the bridge of her nose leaving stains upon the shirt he wore. Her lids were squeezed shut, as if that would drive away the image of the perfectly still male in her arms. She wanted to remember him not as this damaged, broken man but rather, as the charismatically sweet boy she'd fallen in love with.

It was a shame that memories were nothing like the truth.
