WHY IM EVANGELICAL ABOUT ZFLASHING AND NON-ORGANIC TRIM... It all started one dark and stormy night when the customer said, "would you mind looking at my windows, they look a little off." Which started the conversation... Why do you have brickmold on your windows, and further why isn't there any Z-flashing? Flash forward to taking off the trim to examine the previous "work"... "Oh there isn't any flashing around the window."... Then finding the rotted sheathing behind and it was all downhill from there. Ending story, we ended up tearing off the side of the house, and putting it back correctly simply because the person previously didn't put the windows in right. This is why in the northwest we refuse to use anything but PVC or other NON-ORGANIC materials for the house exterior and check the home's z flashing. NON-ORGANIC materials never rot, never warp, looks great, paints the same and is almost the same price. Can you guess who I got the idea from?
