Confidence, how can I get some?

Yikes! Confidence where the heck do I get me some of that? A close friend asked me, "How are you so sure about this? Like how are you so confident about getting this whole journey going?"
Well the thing is its not like this happened overnight. Confidence for me is a work in progress... and it still is! I didn't just wake up one morning and thought to myself, YES! THIS IS IT! THIS IS WHAT I'M GOING TO DO! AND I'M GOING TO DO THIS FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE!! NO! It took so much more than that!
This took me a few years of learning about who I am. Discovering what I am and what I’m not. Rediscovering what I believe in and what I don’t. Years of trial and failure, trial and failure, trial and failure... then finally trail and SUCCESS! Of course, the process repeats itself.
Some say just fake it until you make it. And I think that works for some people. However, what I have found is that when you discover who you are. And I mean, who you genuinely and authentically are and when you begin to act on the things that you love and that ignite your soul. You become better and better at what you do. You become more and more true to who you are. As a result, you shine with confidence.
For a long time in my life I really didn’t have a clue about what I wanted to do. I grew up in a big family and I had this internal pressure of needing to be different from my siblings. To have some thing that was my own. I always thought that business was my Dad’s thing and it wasn’t for me. Back in high school I never ever would have imagined that at the age of 19 I would begin my entrepreneurial journey!! And by the age of 21, I would go full-time with my own business.
Everyday I am still terrified of this journey I’m on, but it’s all part of the thrill of the entrepreneurship roller coaster. I don’t think there really was a pivotal moment where I just flipped a switch and all of a sudden I was confident in what I’m doing and who I’m becoming. Looking back, the confidence that I have build for myself was a combination of all the decisions I have made where I followed my heart, listened to my gut and stayed true to who I am.
My challenge for you, if you are struggling with confidence is to do something today that makes you happy and that brings you one step closer to achieving your dreams! Stay inspired, stay motivated and stay on your grind cause the world needs that special gift that only you have!
