Jonathan set in his ready room, going over the results from the previous night's tests and its resemblance to the expanse. His face seemed to have a permanent frown lately. He didn't like thinking of that year. The things he did, the depression he had sunk into, the long hard crawl back up helped by his friends and especially Erika.
He was glad to have his thoughts interrupted by the door alarm.
"Come in," he stated, and watched as the door opened to revel Hoshi, her hands clasped behind her back with a padd looking all too unhappy to be reporting him. This wasn't going to be good, whatever she had to tell him.
"Sir, Ziyal and I have completed the translations and have come to a...concerning answer."
"And that would be, Ensign?" he asked, his voice calm. Hoshi was nervous and he didn't want to make things worse for her by sharing hsi irratation that things continued to go badly.
"They are building another weapon, sir. Only this time for a star, rather then a planet." She unclasped her hands and handed him the padd. He activated it and started to read it. "We think they have a plan B to destroy a star."
"Thank you, Hoshi," he said giving her a reassuring smile. "I'll let Captain Herandez know. Why don't you get some sleep. I know you and Ziyal have been spending alot of time focused on this." She looked like she was about to disagree, but realised that she was already feeling like she was about to fall over after two days without sleep.
"Yes, sir. Would you like me to put in a link to Columbia before I go?"
"Yes, if you would. Thank you." She nodded and left to return to her consol to enter the proper channel codes. His Computer soon showed the Columbia seal and then his wife's face.
"Erika, we have a problem."
