Think of Me
“For the first dance, both Cookie Dough and Blood Sugar were asked to be a stallion’s partner. I was left to my own devices, not knowing much of anypony else, and my other friends with the princess, greeting guests. I wandered around, pony-watching for a bit, and stopped to listen to the five piece orchestra. Tempted to return to my house to grab my violin and ask to join in, I was suddenly caught off guard by recognizing the song they began to play. It was from “Phantom of the Opera!”
Having had several days to forget the incident in town, I had no problem quietly singing along.
“Think of me, think of me fondly When we've said goodbye Remember me once in a while Please promise me you'll try
When you find that once again you long To take your heart back and be free If you ever find a moment Spare a thought for me” I was lost in the music, when suddenly, an all-too familiar voice rang through the air...
“Think of me, think of me waking Silent and resigned Imagine me, trying too hard To put you from my mind
Recall those days Look back on all those times Think of the things, we'll never do There will never be a day, when I won't think of you”
It was the voice from town! Shaking in my slippers, I looked around again. The stallions I saw were all dancing, or in the band, playing. Am I going mad? I asked myself. This is the third time I’ve heard a voice out of nowhere... It was creepy, yet I was strangely... drawn to the voice. It was soft, yet deep and beautiful, like its owner’s heart knew sorrows like those in the song he sang.
“Sing, my Angel of Music Sing, my Angel Sing for me Sing, my Angel! Sing for me!
Don’t be afraid.” That last sentence was spoken. Entranced, I followed the voice, trusting only my ears as I approached the shadows.
