Not so much arrogant as.. I'm not sure the exact phrase but you seem to be convince that you're on some kind of mission to keep the fandom from failing by reblogging art. One blog reblogging art won't do anything. Getting a lot of notes won't do much. Yes, there's a chance that by exposing one artist to new people, those people can contact and inspire him. The chances of this are slim. Some blogs that are bad will quit simply because they have no drive to improve. This won't help that.

At least slim chances are better than none.

What do you want me to do? Become truly arrogant by discriminating against the mediocre? Destroy the hopes and trusts of the artists who are generous enough to even create art for this fandom? Those who are good will sustain themselves. Those who are bad are those who we need to help. If they can be convinced to stay, despite all the hatred, almost all will improve on their own.

Yeah- sure. No. You can watch as much as you like and that doesn't do much. You can say as much as you like but unless you're respected as an intellectual with well thought out opinions no one will really take your monitoring or the opinions you generate through that monitoring seriously. Personally, I feel like a lot of things you reblog or promote are crap. I feel that Sturm would be a better choice. At least he's not afraid to call shit shit. And he isn't quite so arrogant.

That is true, I suppose. But Sturm's brutality is a double-edged sword. He calls shit shit, and by doing so alienates them from the community. The reason I reblog so much is not so that I can show the best of the best; if the people want that, they can get it from EQD. I reblog massive amounts of artwork so that everything gets as much exposure as possible. Interconnectedness is what keeps a fandom together. It is when we get discrimination against the unskilled or inexperienced that a fandom falls apart. They leave, badmouth the fandom, and the flow of new talent into the fandom stops. This stops the artflow, which is necessary to the life of any fandom. I am just doing my part in keeping it flowing, in the best way I know how.

I don't think even 'faux moderator' is an appropriate title here. There is no 'moderator'. At all. And if there was, I can almost guarantee it would not be you. Please, take a step down and realize that you are first and foremost an image blog. No matter how many blogs you 'strategically follow.'

Yeah, I guess 'moderator' is the wrong term... That implies moderation, something of which this fandom has none.

You are neat. You've got strong, well thought out opinions but aren't overzelaous about most things and can let a lot go by. You're easygoing and surprisingly easy to get along with despite any preconceptions about popularity or skill or anything like that. You're friendly, and you seem to trust people fairly quickly. Or maybe that was just me, Idunno. But yes. You're neat.

But you see, ditzymod, i'm very slow to trust the people who become close enough to me to hurt me. And the only kind of person who's close enough to do that is, well...you know. I guess that's where my biggest problem lies.

But really, thank you - and I know my roots in this community and I wouldn't ever forsake the friends I made back then.
