Fun Ancient Greek Fact #1
Did you know the Ancient Greeks had medicine inescapably intwined with their dreams? If you were sick, a physician would have you take a bath and sleep, and then drink a mixture of herbs and water and sleep silently for one night. They thought Asklepius- ancient greek god of medicine- would tell you in your dreams what was wrong with you and how to fix it. Then when you woke up, you had to tell the physician your dream and they’d interpret the cure.

Since I am afraid of snakes, I decided to draw baby Asklepius in the arms of Apollo. Then, as I was drawing, it occurred to me how funny it is that Apollo's son looks older than Him. Thus, baby with a moustache.
Asklepius is cut from his dying mother's womb by Apollo and Artemis, and then raised by Chiron in the arts of medicine. He is God and Hero of medicine, pharmacy and health. ⚕️
