I know it isn’t as big of a deal like when the anime ended or when the novels were being finished fan-translated, but the No.6 manga came to a close today.
No.6 has made such an impact on my life. The friends I’ve made through our AskNezuShi cosplay tumblr (some of whom I consider very good friends/family now), the community I follow here, the things I write and think about on a daily basis, the way I’ve changed my views on certain topics, how I view cosplay…
It’s sad that the last bit of this truly impactful series is now complete. I just want to say my thanks to everyone who has worked on anything related to No.6, past or present; authors, artists, fanartists, fanfiction writers, cosplayers, lurkers in the community, friends…thank you.
My heart breaks to know that we’ve been left without a happy ending, to never really have more than a promise of “Reunion will come.” Waiting is perhaps the hardest thing anyone can do. I’m sorry we are all left to do that. Hope is so hard to extinguish because giving up and moving on means abandoning feelings engraved in your heart. But know, that it isn’t just us who is waiting, it’s both Nezumi and Shion as well. And if they can wait, we can wait.
