Sebastian was just savoring having tipped past the point of caring about, well... anything... when the voice cut through to him. He looked up, waited the required number of moments for the question to fully sink in, and then his eyes cut over to the bottle on the table. "Well..." he said, not bothering to try to do the math.

Sebastian stilled when he felt fingertips run across the deep scar on his left hand. At least it wasn’t one of those on his face - explaining those would have been much more difficult.

"I was protecting someone," he said finally. "I stopped a knife that probably could have killed them if I hadn’t."

He could have specified that he had been protecting the very man he was speaking to, but he suspected that doing so was far from the smartest option.

"B-back." he pleaded, remaining where he stood. "T— towards me. Please." seeing Sebastian up on the ledge was terrifying, and the one thing he never wanted to happen was for his only friend to leave him this way.

“Please.”

He didn't move at first, keeping his eyes fixed on the pavement below. He'd hoped to avoid this conversation, but he'd hesitated too long, clearly. He was silent for a few long moments, calculating how to respond.

Finally, rather than speaking, he just turned around, remaining on the edge but at least turning his back on the city.

For a moment, Sebastian toyed with the idea of simply saying "Okay." and having done with it. Technically he would be following direction... 

But something in him pushed him to be a little more rational than that, despite how 'rational' was the farthest thing from his mind at the time. In a rather flat voice, he spoke.

"In which direction?"

"Look at me. Just look at me and stay awake. Can you do that?"

She swallowed thickly, a heavy breath pushing past her lips. “But I’m just…” her hands were painted red, fingers clutching at the wound on her stomach. “I’m so tired.” Her head nodded gently, a real effort for her to keep focused on him. As moments passed, a blackness began to form at the edge of her vision. “I shouldn’t… I need to stay awake.” Molly drawled, red beginning to paint the edge of her lips as she let out a sharp cough.
