So I'm currently working on the Shark Sunday post but my ADHD brain is going brrrrr. So if you have nothing to do, send me a question about sharks or diving and I'll answer them! Doesn't matter how basic the question!

So I'm currently working on the Shark Sunday post but my ADHD brain is going brrrrr. So if you have nothing to do, send me a question about sharks or diving and I'll answer them! Doesn't matter how basic the question!
Do you think hammerhead sharks are annoyed they can't see right in front of their faces? Or can they?
Ohohohogsjsjajjaqhahqyqba anon you have no idea the can of worms you just opened.
So for a long time, scientists thought hammerheads just had this massive blindspot but it was recently(ish) found that the placement of Hammerhead's eyes gives them 360-degree vision! They can see above, below and behind them at all times. This grants them better vision than just about any other shark! Although they still have the blindspot directly in front of their nose, they make up for it by swiveling their head back and forth while swimming so they can pretty much see all around them at all times!!
All of this is to say, no. I don't think they get annoyed by their sight :) if anything they have quite the advantage.
Tell me about a Tech moment you love
oooH I love this ask. But ahh it's so hard to answer. There are so, so many moments that I absolutely adore.
But my all time favorite is in Bad Batch Season 1 episode 1 "The Aftermath" when they go through the dark trooper training. Tech reprograms one of the droids and just rides it's shoulders while it shoots down the rest of the droids. I've never been more in love.
Shrampies
Mantis Shrampies can punch so fast it results in ‘cavitation’ bubbles. Which is a super heated bubble and small flash of light, which for split seconds generates temperates of 4,400c (nearly as hot as the sun) in the surrounding water.
Additional shark fact: all sharks love Tech Bad Batch
Yes!! 100%!! Sharks love Tech. All the Lemon sharks like to go to him for pets.
I hope we can still be friends after this, but I have to admit. I’m a smooth shark truther 😔
I can’t pretend anymore I’m sorry but the sandpaper skin is a myth.
Don't talk to me or my sandpaper skinned son again 😤
What if I filled your house with water and sharkies?
I mean, realistically I'd probably drown but I would die happy.
Actually, it depends on the shark. I have a very small house so make sure to use smaller sharks that would be more comfortable with a smaller living space. Oh and please take my cats out before filling my house with water.
Are they smooth
sigh
So technically the answer to this is yes and no. Shark skin is made of tiny v shaped, teeth-like things called placoid scales or dermal denticles. All the scales point towards the tail and help reduce friction and drag when sharks swim through the water. If you were to pet a shark from head to tail it would be pretty smooth (although still a little rough) but if you pet them in the reverse direction, it feels exactly like sandpaper. However, despite it feeling smooth, if you put shark skin under telescope you will find it's not smooth at all. So are sharks smooth? No. Can they feel smooth? Yes.
