Teddy had been there for too long in the first place,he had been staying there for a couple of weeks whenhe should have gotten everything solved and gottenout of there within a day.  But when none of his contactsworked, when he called numbers and received nothingthat could help him, when he tried to look up any heroesand came up with different names altogether -- what washe to do? He had no papers, no way to get any, and itwas godsend that Conner and his family let him stay therefor as long as he did.  Of course, he helped with the farmand earned his keep, but that was all that he could do.

It was a situation that he had never been in before and,to be honest, he had no idea what to do. The best hemanaged to do was make time to sit and brood or try tofind out what had happened and how he had gotten there.It had to be a trick of some sort, but he couldn't figure itout. Conner would look for him and join him on thosenights where he'd climb up if he wasn't off flying around,in the dark of night so no one would know of his abilities,just sitting there with him as they shared stories.

Maybe it was bound to happen that one night, one thingwould lead to another, they kissed, hands roamed everywhere,and when they realized it wasn't too sturdy on the roof of thebarn, they moved into it and started back up.  An almostliteral roll in the hay.  But they continued, it became heated,and before they knew it, they were falling asleep next to eachother with the moon shining in through an open window.

That was how Teddy recalled it the morning after, going overeverything in his head as he sat up and ran his hands alonghis face.  It had happened, it was probably going to happensoon anyway, but was this a life that he wanted?

Could he really relax there?

He'd have to come clean at some point, and when thatwould happened, what would become of the quaintlifestyle he could find himself getting used to?

Standing up from his spot, he didn't even bother to lookback at Conner, slipping out the window and shifting forhis wings to spread, taking off to fly and clear his thoughts.

Would it matter if he didn't go back?

It was a matter of time until the Skrull decidedto come back and take him up.  Only a matterof time before they decided they would try tomake him the perfect little soldier again, onlyto take over the throne and then become theperfect little puppet. He just didn't expect forthem to be as flashy as they were.  The Skrullhad gone in disguise of a Ravager's ship, mostlikely one they had stolen, and used the beamto get him on board before throwing him into acell. It was messy, Teddy was panicking slightly,but he knew that he was going to escape at somepoint. Maybe never make it back to earth, but hewould manage.

Well, that was what he thought until he realizedthat he had a roommate in the cell with him. Browsfurrowing for a moment, he kept quiet and hunchedover in the corner before curiosity got the better ofhim.

Was it the last one night stand with whichsomeone had run their fingers so gentlyalong his body, tracing the scars that theSkrull inflicted on him during his training?Teddy was an alien, he had heightenedhealing and injuries almost never left amark, but when he was thrown into training,his mentors didn't hold back.  They toreinto him, they almost killed him a numberof time, and along his chest and back, therewere entrance and exit wounds that theSkrull had caused. Bobbi was only helping,trying to clean the wounds from his previousjob, but when fingers ran gently along aslitted scar on his back, he flinched, shyingaway from the touch and delivering her asharp glare.  Closing his eyes and taking adeep breath, however, Teddy forced himselfto relax, shaking his head as his fingerscurled into fists.
