25. What is a weird, hyper-specific detail you know about one of your characters that is completely irrelevant to the story?
anko in star trek au is definitely into riot grrl and totally plays kathleen hanna At Full Blast to keep as many people out of the security department as possible. it's a strategy that tends to work out pretty well.
27. Who is the most stressful character you’ve ever written? Why?
SHISUI
IN
BAND AU
i Knew it was going to be a very, very fine line to walk to portray him as being this asshole dirtbag ex who does genuinely heinous things to a person he clearly loves while also making him a character that's super complicated because he's also charismatic and loyal and wounded and (i think) worthy of compassion. and it continues to be an incredibly tough task ESPECIALLY in light of Certain Events that will occur in the final chapter. but at my core i am a shisui apologist first and a human being second, so i must find ways to make due.
28. Who is the most delightful character you’ve ever written? Why?
honestly the most fun i have ever had writing anything is the early sections of star trek au, so it's really no surprise when i say the answer is... the crew of the corvus!
i love them because they're this weird little family made up of weird little people who ended up getting smashed together in the middle of the universe and somehow ended up loving the shit out of each other. reader, it warms my cold dead heart.
to name particular characters, special shout-outs go to:
anko and kisame, who i can Always count on to break the tension with either a sarcastic one-liner or a cheerful anecdote about murder
itachi's love of air quotes and inability to dress appropriately for a bar
ino being Literally The Greatest in every single scene she features
and captain shisui just for being himself, because he is easily the best character i have ever written and also very much my favorite.
i adore these fucking people.
