The weather report was calling for snow but it wasn't supposed to be until later. The air was cold with a biting wind that made it even worse. Still, Yui was warm underneath several layers of clothing and a fluffy scarf around her neck. Yui was used to the cold as she usually walked home from school with Daichi as they lived close together.
Despite the windchill bringing the temperature past zero, Yui and Daichi braved the cold and started their walk home from school. Both teams were on a bit of a break for practice and having the extra time meant more things could get done.
A few flakes started to fall from the sky. At first it wasn't so bad but as time wore on, it got heavier and visibility got worse.
"Hey Sawamura-kun," Yui said. "Maybe we should stop by a shop and get some hot chocolate and give the snow a chance to die down."

Torture: in her first year, she missed a big serve in a big game which ultimately cost her team the match. Though she's gotten over it, she'll have mini-flashbacks during a tight spot in a match, like when it's the other team's game point and she has the serve.
Kinks: dirty talk is a big one, also nipple play
Destiny: she's not a huge believer in it being more of a person who thinks that the outcome relies on effort. Though sometimes things happen that had to have had a little help
Aspiration: she only wishes she could be half the captain to her team that Daichi is to his
Evil: she's usually a pretty sweet person, but she has her moments of being naughty.
Today was the big day. Yui had waited for months, ever since Daichi had bought the tickets. Though the Olympics were two years away (if she saved up now Yui could probably afford to make it to Brazil) the volleyball teams were starting to compete for spots and rankings.
There was a huge tournament in Tokyo that spring for the qualifiers. Daichi had gotten tickets to one of the women's matches, Japan versus the US. Yui was excited, both for the match and that she'd be spending the entire day with Daichi.
She paced around the living room nervously as she waited for him to show up. It was a bit of a ride to Tokyo and they had to leave pretty early to get to the stadium on time.
When the doorbell finally rang, Yui checked herself in the mirror before heading over. Her outfit was simple, a which team Japan t-shirt over a pair of skinny jeans and her own warm-up jacket. Grabbing her purse, she opened the door.
"Hey Sawamura-kun!" she greeted him with a smile. "Are you excited for today? I've been reading about the teams online, apparently the US libero is as tall as you!"

** I get really wordy during the first answer so I’ll put most of this under a read more.]]
How did you go about getting a grip on your muse’s character?
** Similar to how I write Oikawa’s dialogue, a big part about writing Oikawa is just getting into the right mindset and then winging it. The two of us have a number of similarities that make it easy, and he’s a character that I can sympathize with a lot, so I don’t have a lot of trouble in putting myself into his shoes.
I come up with headcanons, and I think about them and I think about them. Even when the headcanon is as developed as it can get, I think about it every now and then to remind myself. I come up with “unimportant” headcanons especially, stuff that I think a ton about and that will probably never actually come up, but in coming up with them help me to learn a lot about the character. For instance, no one really cares about the fact that Oikawa wears shorts during his morning jogs for as long as he can bear to, and that he wears leggings under them when it starts to get cold. No one cares that Oikawa is Not a morning person and goes for an early morning jog to wake himself up before interacting with people. But thinking about that kind of stuff and coming up with it helps me to really get a feel for what kind of person he is???
I think about character interactions too. Canon ones, sure, but also my own imagined ones. Things like “What would happen if Oikawa and Kuroo met?”. This progresses into scenarios as well, both related to other characters (“How would Oikawa react to running into Ushijima at the grocery store?”) and alone (“How would Oikawa react to finding a stray on his way home from school?”).
And then, lastly, I think about AUs. That’s the easiest way for me to come to grips with a character, honestly. Because I *know* about what canon Oikawa does already, but what *if* something different? When I have to sit around and think “Why would you put Oikawa into Slytherin?” “What subject would Oikawa major in?” “What would Oikawa’s part-time job be?” “What is Oikawa’s SHSL title?”, I put a lot of thought into the character themselves.]]
What do you look for in other people’s writing?
** Truthfully? I don’t know. I look for… something, I know, but I’ve never been able to put my finger on just what it is. I know it’s not something about technical writing style: how much or how little someone writes, whether they use past or present tense, that kind of stuff. Purple prose can be a bit of a deal breaker for me, sure, but…. not always.
I think there is something in a person’s word choice and thought processes that, if I can’t sync up with it, I just… can’t write with them. And this is what I look for. That ability to “sync” with someone.
Talking about headcanons really helps me out on this front, because headcanons are a great way to see how a person thinks? And I find that if I’m VERY ENTHUSIASTIC ABOUT TALKING HEADCANONS WITH THEM, I’ll probably have an easy time of writing with them. Especially if we’re able to agree a lot, or if they can say something that goes against my standard headcanons, but they can tell me in a way that makes me go “no, you’re right, I can see that too”. I mean for instance, I headcanon Oikawa as demisexual, but with the right person? I can easily talk about an allosexual Oikawa.
That’s the kind of person I need. Someone who can convince me of things I might not have thought of on my own or agreed with previously, and someone who I can do the same with.
… Another good example is a person who can get me interested in a ship that I wasn’t interested in, or a person who doesn’t ship the thing I ship, but I can convince that “hey if it’s done right it’s actually pretty good”.]]
Three phrases you use too much in your writing?
** UM WOW THIS IS A DIFFICULT QUESTION. IF IT WERE ABOUT PHRASES AND EXPRESSIONS *I* USE TOO MUCH IT WOULD BE EASY.
Without a doubt, one phrase I use way too often in roleplaying is “raised his eyebrows”. Another one is “tilted/inclined his head”. These are two actions that I probably write ALL THE GODDAMN TIME.
Beginning my sentences with “Honestly,” or ending them with the tag question “right?” would probably be the third one.]]

43 - Pirates AU
He was a proud captain, oh yes he was. He had a nice ship with a good crew who knew how to do what they needed to do. There was no way Kuroo could complain. Sitting back in his cabin while he let his troop handle the work, he looked at the treasure map that was sitting on his desk. It was an ancient one, passed down his bloodline, but it had never been found. Which is why he started sailing in the first place.
To find the treasure his ancestors couldn't even dream about.
Well, that was until the rival team kicked in. Maybe they had found a similar map or maybe they had heard clues from someone else. The only thing he knew though, was that they had in their tracks and where after his prey.
That, he could not forgive.
Tetsurou would do everything in his power to lead his crew to success. Even if it meant lying, tricking and stealing. Even if it meant he had to go against the pirates that had rivaled his bloodline for years. Even if it meant he'd have to run away from his past and face the future.
Even if it meant he'd have to kill the one he loved with his own hands.
He'd take his followers to where they truly deserve to be.
That's how a true captain, the leader of a pirate ship is.

24: Ice Skating! AU
It was cold. Unbearably so. Why had he ever thought of going into an ice skating rink in the middle of winter? What had been going through his mind when he thought that? He sighted for the millionth time as he tried to warm his hands through his gloves.
He should be grateful that he was so agile on his feet, or not only would hands and face be so cold, so would his bum. Kuroo regained his balance and went to skate some more. He was here right now, so he might as well enjoy it.
Well, he tried to. Until he saw a man his age move wobbly all around the court. The sight itself was somewhat amusing, although he couldn’t help but get distracted about the appearance of the man over his actions for a minute.
Skating his way over there, he helped the man stand up on the ice, stabilizing their form. “Are you alright there~?” Kuroo said in his own teasing tone. Maybe it was not a bad idea after all.
