Please help me understand. In the video itself, the artist/animator was listed in the corner of the part they did, so I'm confused how credit wasn't given. As for the payment thing, that's most likely part of why he created the patreon. To help pay the people that work with him. Idk, please, just help me understand.
The issue with credit is that they only put the name in the video itself. If you notice, the names displayed onscreen were mostly listed as “dani”, “kiwi”, “anna”, etc. Try looking up any of those names and you’re not going to get any info on the artist.
Their social media handles are in the description, yes, but they weren’t there from the beginning, they were only added AFTER the animators reached out and asked to be credited as it had been accorded.
I understand that the patreon (and previously, the membership) is for fans to help them pay this kind of stuff, but the animators were paid less than 2 dollars per second (again, a second is around 24 drawings). I’m not saying patreon is going to make them rich, but it should at least help pay them fairly.
According to an animator who declined the job, Quil said they were paying so litte because the budget was really low, there was knowledge that they didn’t have enough money to pay correctly, I can understand not having enough money, but my question is: why did they ask for animators if they knew the pay wasn’t fair?
I hope that clears things out, don’t hesitate to ask me if you have more questions.
