Ugh, stay away from Paris. It's a god awful sequel to such a fantastic movie. American Werewolf in London even started the award for best special effects in a movie.

Oh wow! Now I really want to watch it.

Another good case point: An American Werewolf in London. The werewolf was a four legged creature in the movie, and that meant filming it trashing a section London while running around, They had to have the actor use the front paws, while they moved the lower part on a cart to simulate it running. Also the transformation scene, all practical effects. It was elaborate too, like having a latex model for the actors lower torso and below while the actor was below the stage, mainly because he was nude

I need to see that. It's on my list of stuff to watch. I was also too young to see An American Werewolf In Paris when that came out.

That reminds me: Some time in the late 90's there was an IMAX documentary about special effects used in famous movies like Star Wars, King Kong, Independence Day, and Jumanji. It was utterly amazing and now I'm thinking I'd like to track it down again.
