Hi, I love reading, too. What kind of books do you like?

All different kinds of stuff! I tend to gravitate towards fiction rather than non-fiction, and I rarely read Crime and Romance books, but apart from that I’ll try pretty much anything! My favourite books tend to be SciFi/Fantasy ones.

4. Did you discover any new authors that you love this year? Two debut novels stand out: The Last Firefox by Lee Newbery, and Sixteen Souls by Rosie Talbot. Both have made me very curious about what else these folks will be coming out with!

16. What is the most over-hyped book you read this year? Probably The Atlas Six? Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the book, but it definitely was not as good as some other SFF titles I have read this year.

2, 17, 22 for the end of the year questions!

2. Did you reread anything? What? Lots of things! In chronological order: The Poppy War by R.F. Kuang; the Wayfarers series by Becky Chambers; the Raven Cycle plus Call Down the Hawk by Maggie Stiefvater; Daisy Jones & The Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid; and the Wicca series by Cate Tiernan. I'm also planning to reread All Systems Red by Martha Wells as my last book this year, becase I always like to end December with a reread.

17. Did any books surprise you with how good they were? I have gotten pretty good at selecting things I know I will like, so I'm usually not that easy to surprise, but I have to say that Spear by Nicola Griffith totally blew me out of the water.

22. What’s the longest book you read? A Day of Fallen Night by Samantha Shannon with 880 pages!

Hi! For the end-of-year ask: - What’s the fastest time it took you to read a book?

-Did you DNF anything? Why?

- I have gotten really into novellas the past few years, and there are definitely a few this year that I finished in one sitting. The most recent one is The Cybernetic Tea Shop by Meredith Katz.

- Yes, I have no qualms about DNF'ing books that aren't working for me. Life is too short to force yourself to read books you don't like! My most recent DNF was The Chosen and the Beautiful by Nghi Vo; I didn't realize when I went in that it's a Great Gatsby retelling, and as I've never read The Great Gatsby (and aren't particularly interested to), I wasn't really getting much out of it.

//Since Ariel is a part of me that does not exist anymore, we have many differences. Still, I have a special affection for her and it is as if she were my daughter. Basically…

Ariel genuinely believes in the goodness of people... even if she had seen one of the worst sides of human being and sense on the skin the hatred and the fear. I, however, am a person much more closed and for me to call someone a “friend” takes too long.

Despite all the ups and downs, I still have my parents. And Ariel never met hers.

She, when loves, love with all her heart, without hesitation, without fear, no strings attached. And I still have serious problems with that.

Ariel looks fragile, but is actually very strong. I’m the opposite: I show strength not to appear vulnerable, but at times, I have my weaknesses.

She is sweet, sensitive and polite. And I don’t.
