Death and Shadow: An RP with Shadow Link (@askthefourswordslinksandshadow)
Nighttime is often more lively than what day-dwellers would perceive; oblivious to the minds of those who sought rest after the sun grants itself rest and shares its light with the moon. This was the time monsters were prevalent, sharing the world with those who found shelter in the dark; a reprieve into restlessness as some hunt while others hide.
The Phantom would travel alone this night, straying away from the company of his mare temporarily in need of time to clear his head of constant contemplations. He passes a handful of creatures as he slips deeper into the forest, some merely glancing at him in acknowledgement to his presence but pay him no mind. He was not a threat to them, or so they sensed; the curse burying his true nature of a hero and masking him in a different aura. As such, the dead man has grown to understand by now that turning a blade on such behaviour was often needless, though instinct forces him to keep on his guard. A reminder, perhaps, that these beasts once turned on him without second thought.
The night seems to grow stale as he continues, his mind just as restless as his ghostly body until something catches him in his peripheral. Turning, he notes a pathway leading toward what appeared to be some form of a clearing; though darkness had long since swallowed up the light which would have given clue to what lay beyond the gaping maw of trees and the wooden supports which have long since decayed with age. His ears twitch as curiosity takes hold and he makes his way closer, his strides cautious as he attempts to peer into the vast darkness.
Vision was near impossible, though he thought he could make out what seemed like the opening to a large building of some kind; perhaps a tomb or small temple. The fallen hero pauses then, tilting his head slightly as a more compelled expression touches his features. He had never seen any place like this indicated on Hyrule's maps before, so what is it? Why was it here? Mixed ideas spin though his already crowded mind and he pondered if he should venture further.
Hesitation, and then the Phantom finally takes a decisive step toward the structure; figuring it couldn't hurt to at least poke around such an area. Perhaps he could find something useful here, if not, occupy him enough to distract him from troubling thoughts a brief while before he returned to the Ether by dawn. He wouldn't be that long, he tells himself.
However, he also couldn't help but feel that this darkness was unusually thick; almost like fog, like it could easily dance around him and erupt into new life at any given moment. Truly, this would be an opportune place for shadows to hide...
