Hello Valentine. Where did you get your southern accent from? Did you always have it?
New Gorleans, darlin', and no. I've only adopted that accent a little more than 200 years ago...
See, I was born in Ireland 16011 years ago...my original accent was Irish. When Stoker turned me and took me away to live with him to Transylvania, he forced me to speak like him. Vampires from Romania, or specifically, Transylvania are seen as almost royalty [I guess]. But I travelled with him to various countries, Londoom, Scaris, Rome, Itchaly... but it wasn't until the early 1800's (I had separated myself from Stoker by then) that I had heard about a little city in the Boo World in the South that was quickly growin' in popularity, New Gorleans. Not to mention A GREAT number of vampires were flockin' there for new opportunity.
However, it was WILD! People were drunk, dirty, party animals. Even plenty of aristocrats were hostin' scandalice affairs! The vampires had dug their heels into the city and it was BEAUTIFUL! Nothin' like I'd ever seen!
I heard that Stoker hated it.
All the more reason that I loved it! The music, the cuisine, the way the full moon light shone on the bayou in the dead of night, the culture, the meltin' pot of so many folks from all walks of life!
I bought up a bunch a' land, built a gore-geous mansion and made it a point to speak in their dialect, that sweet, sweet Southern drawl. Not to mention, that accent made the ghouls weak in the knees [not that that matters much anymore].
Otherwise, I've long since lost my original accent, so if I speak without the drawl, I don't really have much of an accent to speak of.
