Finally finished drawing all the default sprites for hualian. And I'm not looking forward to drawing all the needed variations of expressions for each outfit...

Now that I have a good look at them lined up together, I can't help but think I missed an opportunity to give Xie Lian red robes. I think the outfit for Gambler's Den could've easily been red (the one with white patterns on the robes and XL having a low ponytail). But I have already made a couple of CG's featuring it, and I'm not going through trouble of repainting them.

The only other suitable outfit is the one with tiny white flowers in XL's hair but...I don't know. I can't imagine it being red for the story it's used in. It's melancholic, maybe a tiny bit sad and white just fits better with this mood.

Guess I have no choice but to let go of it. You can't squeeze in every possible idea in a tiny passion project :')

Also, please appreciate my Xiao Hua looking like an actual 16 year old teen! (he looks small in comparison to his sequoia-tree brothers but I think he ended up being the same height as Xie Lian)
