The airdash animation from Hylics 2 is a reference to one of Mason's first games, Asmosnos, where the main character has a very similar flying animation.

I have a suspicion that the Asmosnos may of blown of Yi'thorn

The statue does look pretty similar to Pongormas Hylics 1 design in some way, that and the fact this statue shows off it's power, somthing Pongo is more than willing to do.

Perhaps Pongo left Yi'thorn because he sensed some kind of impending doom? (There are Spaceships in both games so he could be an alien, as is "Asmosnos"...perhaps their species were at war?)

Anyway...great job ya grumpy git, you made him homeless
