"Do you like the boutonniere?" Kurt asked nervously for the third time that night as he and Blaine waited in line to secure a horse-drawn carriage to themselves. The white carnation looked beautiful against Blaine's lapel, drawing his entire outfit neatly together. For two people who were going to Homecoming as 'just friends', the evening had turned out to be rather romantic. His shoulder kept brushing against Blaine's, and try as he might, he couldn't suppress his grin the entire night nor could he help the shy glances they kept exchanging.
The couple ahead of them moved ahead and boarded their carriage and the man conducing the next one pulled up. Kurt turned towards Blaine, "After you," Kurt smiled brightly at his friend.
