She was doing it again. Less than six months in Silver Lake, and Holland was twice making the rounds to apologize to her closest friends for disappearing, for acting out, for making big, life changing decisions without involving them. This time, Holland had a designated order in which things had to be handled: first she had to speak with Jimmy, then the rest of the Shores, of course. Next was Aspen.
Just as she had last time, Holland made her way to Aspen’s front door with her heart in her hands, ready to grovel, ready to do what she had to in order to get her friend to listen to her. Whether or not Aspen forgave her was up to Aspen -- Holland just had to have her say.
Holland knocked at Aspen’s door. She waited. When she didn’t get an answer right away, she knocked again, a little harder. “Pea?” She called out. “Pea, it’s me. Can we talk?”
